AmbaLove is Tracking the Journey!

Man Amber, I'm so sorry about all that! I don't blame your hubby at all for how he's handled the situation! I would have done the exact same thing, and I think it's really sweet of him to be so concerned for you! He seems like such an amazing man. :)

I hope everything works out in the best way possible, and I'm so happy to see you back!

Wow! What a situation re your FIL. That's too bad your H had to grow up with that.

Kudos to you for handling the kiddies so well. I'm sure your job prepared you for that..lol

Glad to have you back. :hug2:

I'm glad to be back. Although, the numbers on the scale were NOT encouraging this morning. I have three more days to be strict for a better weigh in on monday.

You can do it, Amber!

I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby's father situation, I can't even make a joke about L.A. being the perfect place for violent, unstable individuals :( I DO hope the stress in your life subsides, and weight loss follows--I notice stress always screws up my weight loss efforts!

Take care!!! :grouphug:

Hey!

Teachers go back on the 18th, and the kids start on the 25th. I am also ready for the routine, but I will miss my leisurely summer days! :(

We understand, but hey--when it comes to the food you put in your mouth, ya gotta face up to what it is if you really want to lose. Hell, I ate A COOKIE this morning between my healthy b-fast and healthy lunch. And I want to forget it, but ya know.....I can't, it all adds up....I'm still havin a beer tonight, though :D Gonna work out hard at kickboxing!

Take care, hope you have a good meeting with her and get amped for better choices, no matter how busy you are! :)

Yeah, I've been very honest about it this week. I even told my husband today, "It all comes down to how bad do I want to do this?"

The hits keep coming.

My brother's 19 yr old girlfriend is pregnant. His first kid is barely 7 months old and he's only had custody for less than two months.

Oooooh, ouch. Sheesh....well, I'm sure he'll manage. Babies seem awful if they're unplanned (LOL) but they usually turn out to be a blessing. Still, I hope that chick really wants it because I would not have as nearly as much fun being a momma than being a crazy bunny from age 19 to now!!! Damn!

School starts tomorrow! I feel more prepared to start than I have in any year past. I've worked my butt off for the last two weeks and it looks great! I've got the first three days mapped out and ready to go.

I went on a float trip yesterday, got only a little bit pink, so I am not starting with a painful burn. I applied sunscreen every 40 minutes to avoid burning!

I've eaten well this weekend, which I am happy about. I changed my appt. with the dietician to Tuesday, it was too much to try to do it before school on the first day.

Is this the same girlfriend whole stole your baby name of Sage?? Man, those two need to get some bc. You'd think they'd have learned the first time. :ack2:

Hope school is going well and that the dietician appt wasn't too horendous. :D

Nope, different girlfriend. (But yeah, he total needs to get snipped or learn to freaking roll on a trojan!)

I'm down two pounds since the first day of school, which is happy news.

My husband informed me yesterday that he wants to lose 20 pounds by April (his 30th birthday). I told him he can lose that much way faster than that if he tries, especially since weight seems to fly off men with minimal effort.

Anyway, I decided to challenge him. First one to lose 20 lbs (from yesterday, when I was at 229 on my scale, which is 225 in real life) wins. We've not yet set the stakes as to what we are going to win, only that we will win.

He has the advantage, as he is male, and that is beneficial to weight loss. Also, he has his tae kwon do training that can help him, too.

However, I also know he lacks discipline with food. Even if he exercises regularly, I know he eats too large of portions and too much junk. So I have the advantage on diet. I can control my eating much better than him.

We'll see who triumphs!

I've not been sleeping well lately, combination of stress, going to bed too late and not having my husband home when I am going to sleep. (That makes me nervous for two reasons, I worry that I am alone if someone were to get in our apartment and I worry that something will happen to him on the way home and I will sleep through his phone call...what can I say, I am a worrier.) I know how important sleep is to every function of the rest of my life, so I plan to combat this with daily yoga (which has always helped me sleep), calming music, a regular bedtime (10:30 pm on weekdays) and melatonin when necessary.

I got a DVD called AM/PM yoga, and did the AM this morning. I loved it. I've always felt calmer and more centered when practicing yoga. Today was no exception. It makes me more aware of myself and my body. Even though I mainly watched football and did laundry this afternoon, I felt more at peace than I have in awhile. I know people may call this new aged bullshit, but for me, it isn't. I feel different, walk straighter, sleep better and think clearer when I regularly practice yoga. I recommend it to anyone.

My goal is to do either AM or PM every day this week (today I am going to do both, I am off to do PM as soon I as I hit post on this.)

I also got a calming CD to play when I am going to bed. Our apartment is very near the highway, so besides people walking on my ceiling, talking out on the sidewalk next to my window and driving through the parking lot, I also hear lots of semis on the highway. I need something to drown all that out. I got "Sacred Spas Quiet Days." It helped me wind down last night, I put it on and started to read a bit, but found I was quickly relaxed and drifting off.

Hopefully I can combat the sleep issues, that will help the school year out tremendously!

That's cool you're having a contest with hubby..lol. I hope you win. :D

Glad you're doing things to help you sleep better, and I hope it works. I don't think it's new age bs at all...lol. If it works, it's good. :)

How is school going? I hope it's improving. I think I read you had a rough first week.

Hey Amber! I have that DVD, isn't it with Rodney Yee in the a.m.?? :D Ha ha ha, OMG, I too have decided to make it my goal to get to bed by 10pm-10:30, and wake up and do 30 minutes of yoga every morning, and I have been almost every morning for about a week. WORD it absolutely makes my day much better--and Yoga is not New Age bullshit, it's an ancient practice that has made its way to this part of the world only recently in its timeline :) Congratulations! I hope it helps you sleep :D

Good luck on the hubby challenge! You can beat him! :boxing:

Yes, it is the one with Rodney Yee in his underpants...man looks kinda...um..."filled out" if you get my drift.

I am doing his routine, but pausing and adding in some extra time or repetitions of different things (once is not enough to really stretch out all my knots).

Same with the PM part of it. I am doing the Patricia Walden routine, and then an 8 minute set called "essential sleep asanas."

I was in bed by 10:45 last night (barely missed my goal, dangit), but I did rise at 6:15 this morning to do AM Yoga. (I have a dinner party tonight at my house, so PM is unlikely to happen.)

I also have my students do 3-5 simple asanas every morning at circle time, just to wake us all up. They love cobra, pretending to be a snake rocks!

Just after yesterday's 2 yoga sessions and today's morning one, I've had a much calmer temper and more patience. (And sore hamstrings, but thats another issue.)
