AmbaLove is Tracking the Journey!

I got my three cups today and total calories are 1255. Veggies were broccoli, onion, black beans, avocado, romaine, tomato and salsa.

Went to the gym and did 25 minutes on the treadmill (waiting for a true stride) and 35 minutes on the true stride for a total of 60 minutes. On the treadmill, I did 1.3 miles, on the true stride, I did 3.9. I can go SO much faster on that thing! Tomorrow, before leaving town, I will lift and do cardio and abs. I REALLY want to not gain for thanksgiving.

Nice job on the exercise and the veggie eating!

I'd have thought Val would rather starve than skin and eat a poor little helpless bunny. :)

Good job on the veggies..and the husband. You sound like a very happily married woman and I'm glad for you, seems to be a rarity these days ha ha. Enjoy your TG!

Okay...I am a little freaked right about now...I need someone to answer a question for me.

For the last 7 years, I have been told that I do not ovulate, ever. I have only had medically drug induced periods since then...until this summer, when, after losing about 20 lbs, I had a bleed. Then another. and another. It got to where I was concerned because I was having bleeds like every couple weeks. I talked to my doc. who said that is typical with obese patients as they lose weight. She said my periods would probably resume as my weight became healthy, but that I had long since stopped ovulating and it is extrememly rare for a body to resume that once it quits.

My last bleed was in october and lasted 4 days (mine usually last 17-21 days), I thought "Yay, a normal length period!!"

However...now for the last three days my breasts are SO sore and tender that I cry if they get touched, if a kid hugs me, it hurts. That has never been a pms symptom for me. But it was a huge symptom of my friend's pregnancy...and started like 6 days after conception for her, way before a test would show a positive.

So...is it possible I am pregnant? (very, very early pregnancy if so)
Should I take a test? Call a doctor? Ignore it and see if it lasts? (This is my first response, as I do not want to get my hopes up and find out I am way off...

I had long given up on this dream...I had done my mourning. I would be excited beyond anything if I am...but at the same time, we stopped preparing for this years ago and it would be a total shock for me, also.

What do you all think? Particularly women who've been pregnant, how soon did you have breast tenderness?

Yeah...but I will probably wait until after thanksgiving. Reason: I will get my hopes up, get a negative and cry all day. That would be bad.

OMG, I would be so ecstatic for you if you are! Never know what kind of hormonal things happen once you start losing weight. The fat secretes plenty of hormones and it probably all interacts together. The breasts can definitely be sore early so you never know. Just dont drink any alcohol and make sure you getting lots of carbs because I believe at the beginning you can miscarry without having enough carbs like breads and pasta and things, not just from veggies as we often do when dieting. I forget the science behind this but its definitely a fact so be careful about your diet. Also, make sure you start taking a folic acid supplement, they're at the drug store and very cheap. Its important to have lots of folic acid in your system during the first few days to prevent birth defects. This could all be jumping the gun but its worth it for just in case.

My leptin book has a chapter on PCOS so I'll look it up and see if it says anything about this.

Best of luck girl!!

Well girlie,
I honestly would wait on the test just because if it is too early it my come out negative anyways. I know you cant wait to take a test though....probably your at the store buying one right now...lol But yes for me breast tenderness was soooo painful. It happened fast, in fact i think it was the first symptom of pregnancy. Have you gotten a second opinion about the period/bleeding? Well even if you are not pregnant, dont give up hope...anything is possible with God. I really hope you are pregnant and i am praying for you! let us know.

I already take a prenatal prescription vitamin every day (have since I wanted to try conceiving years ago, just never stopped, and doctor kept renewing the script so I guess she did not care if I took them forever). I like them better than any other multi-vitamin because they smell really good (vanilla mint) instead of the putrid smell of most vitamins. They have the recommended amount of folic acid.

Since tomorrow is thanksgiving, I don't think the carbs will be problematic! I'll be eating rolls and smashed potato and sweet potato and turkey egg noodles....oh, yum!

Rena, I will not test until after thanksgiving. Not knowing is better for me mood-wise than seeing a negative test (for the millionth time). I need to enjoy Thanksgiving, so no testing yet.

I heard that yes, it is, but you're not supposed to increase the intensity from your normal workouts....and eventually you'll have to lower the impact. I don't know much else.

Yes, you can work out. My doctor never tried to stop me from that at all, not that I was doing much of it anyway what with the daily nausea and then the lower back pain. ha ha

Hiya

Good job on the loss of all those inches!!!!

As for everything going on today i hope your doing ok,
Try not to think about it too much until you are ready for the test i know all i did was obsess about it and was really devastated when it was negative,
As for the exercise i think swimming is one if the best things you can do I know my friend was told no running on the tread mill at one point but walking is ok must have something to do with the intensity

Have a good Thanks Giving I will drop back soon

Um, yeah, not. Having fairly regular bleeding is pretty convincing evidence that you're ovulating. Yes, anovulatory bleeding happens, but it doesn't happen every month. If you're overweight and infertile due to being anovulatory, losing weight is the first thing to try when you want to get pregnant. If you have PCOS and are overweight and anovulatory, losing weight is even more likely to get you ovulating regularly, with a low-carb diet being a close second.

My last bleed was in october

Do you remember around what date? (Going back through your diary says maybe around the 5th?) So that would make today about 7 weeks LMP.

is it possible I am pregnant? (very, very early pregnancy if so) Should I take a test?

Totally possible, assuming you had sex at some point in the last 5 weeks. And 7 weeks isn't early - if you're pregnant, an HPT will definitely show it if you're that far along.

My second vote (assuming negative HPT) is that this is an ovulatory cycle, and you've either got ovulation-related breast tenderness or pre-menstrual breast tenderness. If you've gone years without ovulatory cycles, you have no reason to think that you don't have breast tenderness (caused by high progesterone levels) as a premenstrual syndrome, because an anovulatory bleed by definition isn't menstruation, and isn't preceded by premenstrual hormone changes.

Particularly women who've been pregnant, how soon did you have breast tenderness?

We spent about a year (although only 6 cycles) TTC with the help of technology and charting, during which time I was on a bunch of TTC groups / message boards. Every pregnancy symptom known to woman has hit someone as a premenstrual symptom; most of them are caused by high progesterone, and almost everyone has high progesterone right before they get their period. (I started throwing up a couple days before a positive HPT. I thought it was morning sickness. Nope - gallstones!) If you're really 7 weeks along, though, that's not too early for "real" pregnancy symptoms.

Yeah, it's fine to work out as normal.

Good luck and let us know!

Ally, I had another bleed in late october...I am thinking around the 28th, so I would not even be 4 weeks (and actually only around 2 weeks post-ovulation). I guess that one did not make my diary.

I have not taken the test yet. I have one...but I am not ready. I know that might seem weird to some of you...but I cannot do it yet. I want to wait until I know it will for sure show up positive if I am. I do not want to do it and have it only be 10 days and negative when I really am.

Before I knew I had PCOS, I took a lot of tests...all negative. It was extrememly hard to deal with. Since I found out I did not ovulate, I quit charting, quit monitoring temps, mucus, ect. And quit taking tests. I am scared to enter back into that disappointing world.
