Which brings a question. On the challenge, are points awarded from being down from start, or down from previous week? Like, if I went up 2 lbs the first week and only down 1 the next, which is still 1 up from start, but down from previous week do I get points or not? (Did anyone follow that other than me??)
Points are awared as long as you lose. It doesn't matter if it's from the starting weight or not. If you gain one week, but you lose a pound the following and you're still at your starting weight, then that's fine.
I am truly starting to believe I will not be 205 by Christmas. Ah, well. I am not giving up. I may not be 205 by Christmas, but I sure as hell won't be 220, either!!

Hmmm... hey, you never know, honey. If anything, just keep that number in your head, 205, as your goal and push yourself until Christmas. Don't change your goal to 210 or anything. Also.... if you feel your program needs tweaking (calories, etc), ask Steve for help. He's helped Blancita, myself, Kimberly.. etc. Okay, angel.. have fun at the gym!

I know I've been repped for heartfelt posts, just never this many people repping me for the same post before. I found it amusing!
I hear you there. I only get repped for being a perv it seems. :( HA!

I feel virtually no strain on knees or ankles on this thing, letting me go much faster than on a treadmill, where I average a mile in 20 min. Anyway, I take headphones to watch tv, listen to Mp3s and I also take a magazine. Then, I just do it, whether I want to or not.

Wow, that machine sounds pretty frickin awesome. Unfortunately my gym doesn't carry them. But hey, if it's low impact and you can exert yourself to the point of knowing you're burning calories, then go with it! Awesome job with it, honey.

 
Well, 0pts is better than -1 as far as the weight goes. :D I missed out on 3pts this week because I went over on my calories Sunday. :ack2:

Way to work out at the gym! Also, you did really well with the calories this week. I'm sure you'll do better at next week's weigh in.

LOL@you cloning your H in order to have another one around when he's working nights. Why not clone another one for me? :D I actually like sleeping alone--I love having the bed all to myself. And if I get divorced, I'll be getting a lot of that.
 
No, I do not plan on changing my goal. I am just not going to get bitter if I don't hit it...because I will KNOW that I did EVERYTHING I could to try and get there. I just don't want to feel like I need to starve myself or any crazy way to lose weight in order to meet the goal I set. If I DO hit it, it will be the right way and I would be grateful (amazed, but grateful). I just know that a "good" week's loss for me tends to be 1.6 lbs. That won't get me there.
 
Kimberly, if I clone him, I'll let you have one. How tall are you, though? You might think he's too short (some women do...) I never minded as I am only 5"1", but he is 5"4".
 
By the time I eat the dinner that is currently baking, I will have had 3.5 cups of veggies today. 1/2 c. onion, 1/4 c. red bell pepper, 3/4 c. celery and 2 C. carrots. Challenge met!

I went to the gym and did 30 minutes cardio (elliptical, all the true strides were taken), 15 minutes stretching and abs and 35 minutes weights. 80 minutes total.

I also went and got the stuff to make my christmas party invitations...it's coming up quick (we hold it on the 8th this year)!
 
Eh, why publish a cookbook when you can all just copy and paste from Elle's diary and print your own to keep! Much cheaper...do you know what it cost to publish a book??
 
My friends mom is looking at publishing a book right now and it will be about 5000 for less than 500 copies. Crazy.
 
Hm...cloning him...Could I have a second one to pull out when he works overnight? I hate sleeping alone...

In other news, I went to the gym and did 60 minutes on the True Stride, logging 7.2 miles. The calorie counter said I burned 687 calories, which sounds REALLY high. How accurate do you think those counters are? It is based on heartrate, right? Ah, well, either way I did a lot of exercise. I have worked out every night except one in the last week. I also stopped taking decongestant in case that was the problem. I BETTER lose something this week. My scale shows me at a loss from last week but not a loss from my previous low, which is what I really want.

Great job at the gym girl! I've heard the machines can be up to 20% off regarding calories burned, but that still would bring you to 550 calories, so you still burned plenty regardless of how you calculate it.

Yeah, I figure that they tell you to aim for 300 calories burned. So even if it's off by a whopping 50%, I still did that!
 
1.25 cups of veggies down for today already. 1/8 c. onion, 1/8 c. red peppers and 1 c. green beans.

I always try to stop eating when I am full, so in order to meet this 3 c. challenge, I am clearing the veggies off the plate first to make sure I get full AFTER I finish the veggie allottment!

I always do this i was beginning to wonder if i have a slight obession about how i eat food but veg then meat/fish then the potatoes i never really had a reason why but that really makes sence so will be using that from now on.

Well, I'm 5'9", so we'll have to add 8-10"--to his HEIGHT--not another area. ;)
