AmbaLove is Tracking the Journey!

Hi

Your doing really well with your cal intake and going they gym maybe you will enjoy the yoga class at one of the other centres more???

Keep going your doing fab
Sarah

so you yoga?lol i always wanted to try but havent got up the guts to go into a class full of little skinny girls stretching. I should try though. Do you find yourself having any trouble doing the yoga?

Rena

I am not as flexible as I would like, but I can do everything they do, even if I cannot go as far as them in the stretch. But there are all ages and body shapes in the classes I have taken, not just skinny pretzel chicks.

I did yoga for a year and a half at my other gym, before it closed over easter. I cannot go to another place for it, because you have to pay to enroll in yoga classes and you have to select the day and time you want to enroll for, so I cannot do a monday one at another gym, because I paid for 5:30 on Wednesday, if that makes sense. They do that so they can tell when a class is full. I paid $25 for 8 weeks of 5:30 Wednesday classes.

My other yoga instructor was just better, in my opinion, and it was more traditional yoga. This yoga is more modified (using balls and balance sticks, blending in pilates, etc.) My other class was traditional poses, followed in a certain order each time. More of a rythmic yoga, that calmed me.

Total calories were up today, by virtue of the white mocha latte I had with a friend to celebrate not having to work tomorrow!! (We had to stay late every night this week for conferences, our reward is friday off.) So, total, if the latte was really the 350 calorie drink the internet says it is, my calories were 1985 today. Higher than normal by quite a bit, but it is the only day this week that I have been that high, and really, that isn't an absurdly high number by any means.

For week two of the holiday challenge, my goal range will be 1550-1850, which is the range I ate in every day this week except for today.

I also walked half an hour on the "true stride" machine at the gym. Has anyone used one of those? It is kind of an elliptical but the foot part slides up and down a bar that moves at the same time. Odd, but a really comfortable workout. Much more natural than the Arc Trainer, which I despise.

I am confused, because I already posted this once and it is now nowhere to be found...

Ah, well. Again!

I met with a trainer at my gym today to establish a regular workout plan for myself. I was with him for an hour, but am not counting my time with him as exercise, as in between sets we were talking about form, goals, etc. I did workout after the session for 35 minutes that I am counting.

I will be sore tomorrow, but it will be good sore.

never heard of the "true stride" machine....and cant really imagine what it is. My gym is kinda small...like 3 elliptical, 3 bikes, 6 treadmills and nautilus equipment. I love the elliptical though and i despise the treadmill!!!!!
Mocha latte.....yum. I am a coffee lover.. what i make at home is espresso with ff milk and splenda... a dash of vanilla.... and top it with ff whipped cream...yum!

Hope everything is going great!!...did you break that plateau?

Hey lady
I didn't realize you, too, are afflicted with PCOS. You look pretty young, which surely would be in your favor as far as getting it under control (which is not to downplay the whole thing - IT STINKS!). I was very fortunate and able to conceive and give birth x2, though when I look back, I did have some weird symptoms around the time of my first pregnancy. It sounds like you are working hard to curtail calories, exercise, and take wise meds or supplements. Good on ya, it will hopefully all pay off!

Best wishes on your journey,
from :eh:

Hey beautiful,

dropping in to check in. Looking good with the calories... even with the mocha latte day. .. (Hell, you deserve a "gimme day." haha) As for the gym... good on you for meeting up with a trainer to set up a program. Looks like someone really wants to hit her X-mas goal. :D When's the next weigh in, so I can write it into my food journal? Love ya, doll....

-Sheryl

Rena, you can google the true stride machine if you really want to see it. It goes in a similar motion to the elliptical, but more level, not as around in a circle...and the foot part moves back and forth on the part doing the moving. Hard to explain. It feels much more like walking than an elliptical, but is easy on the joints and feels like a fluid movement, unlike a treadmill.

ABBA, I am getting close to turning 28...in the world of PCOS, I may be past the prime time of conceiving, as I (and my specialist) believe I have never ovulated, and if I did, I stopped doing so around age 18. (And I was not trying to conceive then!!) It sounds silly, but I never feel "old" until I realize that I may well turn 30 without having a baby, after trying for over 5 years. I always planned on having 3-5 kids (hopefully all boys, I adore little boys) and being done having them by 35. But, I am working at making my body fit for egg harvesting. I have a fabulous list of people who are willing to surrogate for me (as even in vitro offers a huge risk of miscarriage for me), who are all family so hopefully they would not decide to try to keep my baby. (It would be biologically mine and my husbands, just in a "foster womb".) But, truly, adoption is my best bet. We just are not ready to do it quite yet.

Sheryl, I desperately want to hit my Christmas goal. I am starting to worry if I will, which is more than upsetting. I weigh in on Monday mornings. So...3 days. However, the trainer weighed me today and I was down 0.2 lbs from Monday at the dietician (but on a different scale, so it is hard to know if that is accurate.)

That is really cool that you met with the trainer today. I hope the new workout helps with the plateau.

Good luck with becoming a mommy. I feel for ya, girl, believe me, I do. :)

Have a great weekend!

I am also hoping that regular weight lifting, combined with cardio will jump me over this plateau. I need a "black diamond ski slope" to slide down if I am going to make my Christmas Day goal weight!!

Today's calories were 1785. Exercise was 35 minutes (more if you count trainer time, but as I said before, that is not steady working out, so I do not know how to count it, so I am not.)

Well, my weight as best I can figure on my home scale is 218.4 today. (That is taking the weight it gives me and subtracting 3.5, as my dietician weight is generally 3.5 lbs lower than my home scale weight.) I am happy about it, because it is 1.4 lbs lower than my start weight for the challenge. I am not going to change my ticker until I weigh in on monday, as my dietician weight will still be my official weight.

Went to social suppers again today! I made orange pecan french toast, white chocolate blueberry buckle, peppered beef with egg noodles, pot roast with potatoes and carrots, cran-b-que chicken, chicken with maple dijon walnut sauce, ham and swiss turnovers, baked spaghetti italiano, creamed chicken and biscuits, and cider pork chops with cinnamon apples. Less than $3 per serving and everything is under 425 calories per serving. I love that place, it makes my whole life easier.

I am off to the gym to bust my butt!

Oh, and I am changing my calorie range for the challenge to 1500-1800 as I want to be a tad stricter on myself this week and this is a good way to keep myself accountable to that!

Yay Amber!! I hope that your weigh in at the dietician goes as well as your home weigh in did!!! :D

I think there's one of those places like social suppers near me, I can't remember the name because it's relativly new but I'm thinking about heading to it this week to see what it's all about. All that food sounds super yummy!!!! :drool5:

Total calories today was 1585, which is within my range for the challenge.

Exercise was 40 minutes. 10 minutes abs, 15 minutes on the recumbent bike and 15 minutes on the true strider.

I made a christmas wreath tonight with a friend. It is gorgeous (although I am biased). I cannot wait until the day after Thanksgiving so I can hang it in my window!!

I have been looking at christmas decorations today im not that creative when it comes to making things Im so jealous of people who can do things like that!

Good job with the Cals and gym im going to start on Monday Do you have a set program you use or just making sure you use cardio and decide what you feel like when you get there?

Sarah

I do 30 minutes cardio 4-5 times a week, in any form I want. I also swim 1-2 times a week for 30 minutes and take a yoga class for an hour once a week. I met with a trainer to set up a weight lifting program that I will do 3 times a week.

Instead, we have the "ghetto grill"... hahaa jk Oh hey.... can I get a pic of that Christmas wreath? I love them to death and have been wanting to make one myself since there are freaking trees EVERYWHERE.... a lot different than Hawaii fo' sho'. hahaa Love yas, dollface...
