I started the Rice Diet this morning. I have had a month off and need to get back to it. I am hoping this will help me.

I had two cups of sliced strawberries and a cup of oatmeal for breakfast. I was a little hungry in between. I usually am the first couple of days. For lunch I had two cups of bananas and two slices of 100% whole grain bread.

I'm still trying to decide on dinner.

I will weight tomorrow and get the bad news. I am also getting back to the gym tomorrow.

I hear so much about this rice diet what is it? Also don't be discouraged we all get off the wagon at times it is just remembering to get back on. I myself am trying to lose at least 10-15 lbs by the end of june long term 40. I am always getting discouraged by hey what else is there huh?
Get back in the gym because that always make me want to watch what I eat more.

Well, Hope all goes good with the diet. You can and will do great. Hope you have a good day. Don't forget to drink your WATER:D

This is my third day on the Rice Diet. It is going very well. I even went to the gym yesterday. I've been hungry but I haven't cheated. I haven't been hungry at all today. I know every day it will get better.

My scale needs a new battery. I plan on weighing on Monday since it's the start of a new week.

Breakfast
Cup of nonfat cottage cheese
Peach
Slice of whole wheat bread

Lunch
Cup of white rice
1 & 1/2 cups of broccoli and onion
Peach

Dinner
Potato, 2/3 cup of white rice
1 & 1/2 cups of carrots and onion
1 cup of strawberries

Hullo Amanda, welcome to the forum and I hope this week is a good one for you! You're food you've posted so far looks great! I've never tried the rice diet before but I've heard lots of good things about it!

Rice Diet!

I have been asking many people that are on conventional diets like atkins, south beach, rice diet, etc. about a certain weight loss question and what they think. Please give me your thoughts about the following question.

Why do people do conventional diets when only 5% actually lose weight and keep it off long term when it is shown that people who learn the correct way towards healthy eating and exercise, lose weight twice as fast and keep it off for good?

This is a question that I believe should be asked to people seeking weight loss. Thank you

Hi everyone and thank you for stopping by with the encouragement. It helps a lot and I appreciate it.

I went to the gym today. I did 20 minutes on the stair elliptical. I also walked 4 laps. So, it was a good day.

For some reason I am starving today. I am determined not to eat something I shouldn't.

Breakfast
Peach
2 slices whole wheat bread

Lunch
1 cup of white rice
2 & 1/2 cups of mushrooms, onion and broccoli
Pineapple

Dinner
3oz of lean beef
2 Potatoes
1 slice of whole wheat bread
Mushrooms
Cauliflower
Red pepper
1/2 a banana

I just weighed. I lost 6 pounds. YES!!!

I didn't write my food down yesterday, but I was good. So, it's paid off. I'm happy. I'm getting into a routine at the gym too.

Great job on the weight loss! But if you're hungry you're more likely to cheat so why don't you look at adding more veggie snacks, water, higher fiber... There are different options. You are doing soooo well! Woo hoo!

I didn't feel good all day. I was sick to my stomach and had a headache. I wasn't going to go to the gym. By evening I made myself get up and go. Then I fought with myself the whole time I was exercising. I ended up doing 50 minutes between the stair elliptical and the treadmill.

Breakfast
Nonfat yogurt
banana

Lunch
1 cup of white rice
2 cups broccoli, onion and mushrooms

Dinner
1 1/2 cups asparagus
3 slices of whole wheat bread
1 cup of pineapple

I will weigh in tomorrow and see how it's going. This is my fourth day in a row at the gym. I feel really good about this. At least that's what I tell myself as I am working out and sweating.

Here I am again. I am so disgusted with myself. I gained 40 pounds. Everything that I worked so hard to lose. I can't even believe it.

I started again yesterday. I went to the gym tonight. I did 35 minutes between the stair elliptical and treadmill. It was fairly easy. I would have done more except that a month ago I injured my leg. My knee started hurting tonight so I stopped before I aggravated it further.

I hope I can keep on track this time. I have to lose weight. I am tried of being FAT!!!

Hey Amanda,

I am sorry to here about you gaining again. Just hang in there!
If you knee is troubling you, working out in a swimmingpool helps a lot, it doesn't stress out the knee. Some water arobics maybe?
Well, hope you feel motivated, keep us posted

Welcome back! It's wonderful you're trying again :) Try to stay positive and motivated! You can do this!! :D

Goodluck!!

WELCOME Back !!!! You could do this. Just out your all in and you'll get to where you wanna be. Have a AWESOME Day and good for you on going to the GYM!!!!!:D Oh yeh, Don't forget to drink your WATER;)

Thank you for the encouragement. I really really appreciate it. I also need it. To know that it can be done. I know it can I just most of the time feel like I am spinning my wheels. It's so hard as we all know.

Hi Amanda! Thanks for stopping by my diary earlier. Gaining back weight really does hurt, but you lost before, so I know you can do it again.

How'd you like the rice diet? I've found I can't really do any particular "diet" anymore. I lost weight before by eating what I wanted, but just making sure not to overdo my calories. I didn't count fat at all, but I did exercise. It was going well until I stopped doing the math.

So here I go again, just like you. We can do this!!!

I liked the Rice Diet for the most part. What was really hard is I like meat. It was only allowed one day a week. I do better when I can satisfy my cravings in moderation. (Well, okay sometimes not as moderate as I would like!)

I am determined to lose this weight. Thanks for your encouragement.

Here we go! We can do this!
