Am I doing everything right?

I have being building for nearly a year and abit now and I ask my self each time I lift, if I am doing the right thing? Magazines tell you all these different routines to take and so forth and it just gets me confused so I picked the one from 'Men's Fitness'.

I decided my routine would be:

1: 3 Sets of 8 Dumbbell Curls with a 90 second break inbetween
2: 3 Sets of 8 Overhead tricep extensions with 90 "" ""
3: "" "" of sits ups with pointing my legs in the air (forgotten the name, reverse crunches?)
4: "" "" of flat dumbbell presses on the floor as I don't have a bench yet.
5: "" ""Same as overhead tricep but with both hands as someone showed me at the gym.
6: "" "" Dumbbell shrugs which I recently just learned of.

My diet consists of Nesquick cereal in the morning, 2 chicken breasts sandwiches in Wholemeal bread with 2 small tubs of chopped mango and fruit juice through the day, with fat free apricot yogurt afterwards (The tubs the size of a cadbury's hot chocolate mix tub). For tea I mostly have tesco organic pizza or chicken and vegetables. After excercises I have a protein shake which contains 14g of protein which is in morning and night.

I was also wondering if there is a drink or mix that could help me through the day, you know to give me a boost?

Yikes bud, this is the routine you do every time you lift? Where are the legs, and back? Shoulders? Lats? Get yourself on a good full body lift and you will see much more improvements

that routine sucks. the way to big arms isn't through arm training...its through chest and back training. every compound chest exercise involves triceps, and the front delts too.

every compound back exercise hits the biceps and forearms, and usually the rear delts to a degree.

and, you're completely ignoring most of the back, and the legs, which are extremely large and important muscle groups.

try changing to this routine for a couple months. I'll kick your ass in the gym, but it'll give you much better return on your work.

I'm suprised you've stuck with that for over a year, though I guess up until a few months ago mine wasn't much better
