I want to work in that law office - my last vacation I had to draft a settlement agreement and prepare a response to a motion. At least I was able to do it on the porch in the breeze...

Exactly. I look at it in this way. At least i do not have to respond right away or if I let the call go to voicemail I have an excuse.....
Plus I can work in my house and take my time with stuff.

Ah the joys of middle management....

I decided to take this week off when i was supposed to go to Virginia for 3 months- we were slow and I wanted to get a jump start on projects around the house- but now that I am not going it is a vanity, fluff vacation.
The issue is that my damn owners do not respect the vacation. I have received no less than 25 emails- down from my usual 50 or so- since Saturday afternoon asking questions and needing answers. The proper answer to an owner is not " I am on vacation right now- I will give you an answer Monday...".
I am just freakin irritated that I cannot even enjoy doing nothing. These people are killing me. Granted I have a project starting 5/19 and another major one 5/26- with any luck- but they knew all this and still approved the vacation. Why the hell this company cannot do without me for 5 freaking days is beyond me...
Nothing is earth shattering and nothing needs to have "I need this ASAP" in the subject line of an email!
I am going to have to go into the office on Friday to get some things together since I am the only one who can do this aparantly.
Going to the gym at 1230...need to work off some of this BS...

So, that's when you turn on your "out of office reply." Say something like . . . "this computer has crashed and will be down for major overhaul until no later than *fill in blank*"

lol, I had to do several pleadings during my last maternity leave. Crazy ass lawyers.

My thread remember?

So, did you ever realize why you worked out. I really feel good after today's workout. I was almost alone in the free weight section of the gym. I had a smooth work out- no waiting for anything- not even the damn squat rack. I then went to the treadmill since the weather here is not cooperating to run outside and proceeded to run 5.35 miles in 50 minutes.
I feel real good right now, energized even.
Ah- the joys of dragging your ass to the gym sometimes.

I think it was somewhere around the "Dot" conversation. But since there are a million posts in that awesomely cool thread, I ain't searching for it.
 
Seeing my short-term memory is shot to hell I will need to take your word on this.
Rest assured though, I will look it up if necessary and to prove a point...
