you don't need a lot of brown sugar and a tsp of brown sugar is actually less than a tsp of the splenda baking blend - sugar isn't evil...

Oh I know sugar is not evil. I avoid it in coffee and the like just because it adds up quick but I do not cut it out intentionally in any other way.

Plus I do think I read somewhere that brown sugar is better than most.

Court deadlines and all that - more people just being ridiculous, that's all...

Ok day for me, bloated for reasons I am sure you are not interested in :D Punished myself this morning at the gym which felt good. I just want today to be over which is bad since it isn't even 10am.

I am sure this bloated refers to the mysterious Tom I hear all the women talk about from time to time.

Not even 9 here and really want it over. The days before a week off are always the hardest...

I love brown sugar so much. This might be gross, at least it was for my dad, but I would just go grab a spoon and eat a spoonful of it. :willy_nilly: I avoid sugar as much as possible because when I get some I want more... especially brown sugar.

I've been wanting to have oatmeal for breakfast but I can't fathom having it sans brown sugar. Maybe I'll go for it and use it as a self-control test. :D

What is tragic is that I used to do this too...
Possibly, just possibly it is one of the 7 habits of highly successful fat people.:D

ugh. I may think about some of the things I used to eat/do and post them here just to give myself some perspective.

Let's just say that after spending the last 45 minutes in the basement here looking for a lost portion of a file I am ready to get that gun I keep talking about and shoot someone.

I don't even care who at this point.

:D

Don't worry, it is limited to the morons in my office :)

I like you.

It is much easier to shoot someone here...to shoot you I would have to buy a ticket, get on a plane, get a gun...

Too much work.

Sometimes the effort is worth it though- just because it is easy does not mean it is the right thing to do. You need to take it one step at a time and not dwell on the whole process- you will get overwhelmed.
Did you take measurements and see how far you actually needed to go? It could be less than you think.
Starting getting a gun is the hardest part. Once you commit though it will get easier.

This weight loss motivational stuff applies everywhere.:D

Just found out I have meetings and conference calls all afternoon........hate this aspect of the job..

who schedules a call for 430pm?
Least I can bring my laptop and "work".......

So while driving in this morning- East into the sun and in lovely Chicago rush hours- I realized it has been exactly 4 months since I began this change in earnest.
My last cigarette was 1/9/08 and that was when I really started to get dedicated to changing myself. If I look back to how I was on 12/31/07 I realize how far I have come- if I look at myself in the mirror I see how far I need to go....
I could not run for any length of time 4 months ago- I would walk for 45 minutes at 4-4.5 mph. Now I can run 6 miles in 55 minutes non-stop- did so Wednesday.
Flat bench w/ DB was 45 lbs- yesterday it was 70.
Flat bench with BB was non existent, 135 if that- Now I rep 205 w/no spotter
One arm rows were with 35 lb- Tuesday it was 75
Shoulder press was on a machine and was 50lbs at most- Tuesday it was barbell and was 135.
Squats and dead lifts were too hard and I made excuses to not do them- I love squats and dead lifts now and look forward to them. Squat is at 225 and dead lift is 205- not impressive but better than none.
I can do 20+ push-ups now- before 5 tops.

I feel so much better. I do not sweat while I am sitting anymore. I am not embarrassed to be alive anymore. I have more confidence in myself. I do not feel I will die of a heart attack by 45 anymore.

I actually am starting to feel good about myself.....
Dangerous I know.:)

I am so impressed with your attitude change :) this is just what you needed.

You have made tons of positive changes and I am glad that you were finally able to see the wealth of success you have had. Guess what? Very little of that is tied to the number on the scale.

Amazing progress in the gym, man. Good for you. Good for you for making all of those changes at once! It took me over a year after quitting smoking (and getting even more out of shape as a result) before I decided to do anything about it.

Again, awesome work. You're really kicking ass.
