My one grandmother that is still alive is 98 and still shoots below 45 in 9 holes of golf. Something that I've never done. My other grandmother died two months before she turned 90. My one grandfather lived till 91 and the other died at 81, but he smoked from the time he was 13 till his first heart attack at 59. He still lived 22 years after that, so I think I got some longevity in these genes.

Must be the honey . . .

I was able to run again today.
I am so frickin happy that I was able to run. I have not really been able to for several weeks now. I was able to do 5 miles on the path around my gym in 42:23. This is not too far off what I was doing when I needed to stop because of my groin. I am going to give my groin a few days off- still not squatting of any type until next week- and not run until probably next week. But I was able to! With no more pain than one would expect from running after a lay off like that. I stretched for 10-15 minutes after just to make sure I was not going to re-injure it again because of improper stretching.

I am pleased.:D

Excellent job, Brian. Real good that you were able to do five miles and at a good time, even after all that time off. Way to go.

Thank you Trops. I have been doing a lot of other cardio but running has always been my favorite. It really upset me when I was not able to. I need to ease back into it slowly this time.

Brian - I am so happy to hear about all of the great and happy things that are happening to you!!!

Awesome on the running, although I can't understand why anyone in their right mind likes to run, oh wait, that explains everything :D

Serisouly, I am so glad to see this shift in you, it makes a great person even better :)

Brian,

I want to be the first one to officially say...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

I wish you nothing but happiness today Brian, you are an amazing person and one hell of an amazing friend. Enjoy your day today :)

*goes over and gives Brian a big birthday hug and a kiss*

Thanks Ali. Great and happy could be a stretch but all is surprisingly going well in my life.
I love running because when you are fat and smoke you cant do it. I hate that I did so much bad to myself from 16-33....
plus I am rarely in my right mind.:D

Thank you so much Ali. I usually hate anyone acknowledging my birthday other than my parents. It always just showed my that another year of my life was wasted. This year though there has been so much good happening in the last half of 33 and there is so much good to happen in the first half of 34 that I do not mind if people acknowledge it.
This is my first birthday in a long time that I can say I am happy. :D

Happy Birthday, brother. Have a blast today.

Thanks Trops.
No blast though. Work as usual and then the wife has class tonight so I will not see her until after 10pm....
No big deal though- life does not stop, you know?

Well, then you have to turn it into an extended birthday weekend. Start today through Sunday it's your birthday.

:grouphug:

Damn fine idea.
Sunday is that party w/ my family though.
I am now really looking forward to that. I am liking how I look at the moment.
