Always The Big Girl

From elementary school to now I've always been the big girl. My Mom was overweight growing up and even had to have weight loss surgery. My brothers are all big as well and have to work hard to stay fit. I got married in 2014 to an amazing man who has never had the burden of being overweight. Since we've been married he's gained some weight but because he wanted to as he felt he was too skinny. For as long as I've known I've always wanted children. My husband wants me to lose weight and become healthier before we try. I see everyone my age(27) having babies some even on their 2nd or 3rd. I so badly want to lose weight to be healthier, happier, make my husband happier, and to be able to grow our family. I work full time and spend a majority of the day walking around and have even started walking to work. I could cut out the sugary drinks and fast food. Getting off at 10pm doesn't help because both my husband and I come home hungry and eating before bed doesn't help. I bought some apples so if I do feel hungry after work I could eat one of those rather than a plate of pasta or worse, a fast food dinner. Any recommendations or help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm 27 too and getting healthy for babies!
What are your goals? Will you be calorie counting? Lots of us on here use my fitness pal which is very good. Sounds like you have an active job which is great. Working late is not great but if I finished at 22:00 I'd combat that by just going to bed as soon as I got home.. I do love an early night though! The apples will help. Do you get time at work for a proper dinner at a decent time?

Hi Melissa & welcome to the forum. Cutting out fast food & sugary drinks would be a great start. I use My Fitness Pal & it is a great help with keeping tabs of what you actually eat. How much do you think you need to lose? If you are not able to sit down to a proper dinner while you are at work are you able to have a healthy snack about 2-3 hours before you finish work? A banana with some yoghurt maybe?
