alternative abs workout + obliques

For my abs(since i have problems doing the crunches, i seem to have problems breathing, but when i do sit-ups on d bed i dont have)

I was thinking of placing my feet(at 90degrees with my body) on a chair while my back, bascily rest of my body will be on d floor, then i go up all the way to my knees or mybe go up-half way. (i decided to do this cause i seem to find it easier to breath and dotn need to stop to regain my breath)

Also since i seem to have problems breathing(no matter how i breath) doing the crunches i thought, mybe its obliques, i need to strengthen them,
So along with my ab workout (above) i`ll be doing some oblique excercise, unfortunitly, i`m not sure if i`m doing them well and tbh i feel like an idiot while doing them,

So if did the above would you think it would be sufficient to get the core into shape(i also do the pec-fly for the pectorals, but that is part of my general workout, what i posted above is kind of a specialised area)

I am going to assume you are having a clean diet and doing work on your entire body as well as your abs, if not then I suggest doing so as you can crunch all you want but removal of body fat is what shows ab definition.

As far as the breathing alot of times people breathe to much or move to quickly in their movements. You want steady focused movement. Breathe out on the way up, breathe in on the way down. If you find yourself getting winded then rest and try again with focus. It is better to do it at a slower pace correctly then rushing through doing it wrong. Remember this isn't cardio, speed is not the goal here.

I would also suggest maybe you starting out on a core ball being you like to be elevated or on a soft object.

Just some ideas to get you started.

For now i`m limited to household items to aid me in my exercises(i have dumbells)

As for clean diet, well without going into to much detail i could eat a bit more healthy however with some tuning to d minor details its a clean diet.
This is what troubles me, no matter how i do it i always find my self winded and tbh its getting me realy angry bcoz i`m unable to do the most effective exercise for abs and it gets on my nerves.
As for getting rid of belly fat, i use a stationery bicycle(those without d wheels) and in summer i will also be using a treadmill. I`m going to realy on those to get rid of body fat(primarly thigh and a bit of belly)

Thkxs for d core ball info, i will look into it, and ask for one when a go to the gym, however at 1st glance it looks like its difficult to stablise one self on it and also that it could injure back do to the arched position u often end up in.

"it looks like its difficult to stablise one self on it"
thats the whole point.. you use your core to stabalise yourself on it:p
