ive made steady progress with my grip recently doing timed holds etc. still a bit poor, anyway im just wondering if my double overhand deadlift is what would be be expected in relation to my max alternate grip deadlift. my alternate deadlift was about 380pds last month probably gone down a bit and today i got 303pds for the double overhand.
any comments?
thanks

no one knows whats to be expected since everyone is different.
If you can use more weight with an alternated grip, you should probably use that.

personally, I can DL the most weight with an alternating grip, second with underhand grip, and last with an overhand grip

I found that I can deadlift/hold anything less than 250 punds with a double overhand grip indefinately, but once I go over 250 pounds I can only hold for a few seconds or 1 deadlift rep. So anything over 250 I use an alternate grip. I typically do 365-400 pounds for 3-5 reps when I am deadlifting heavy.

underdog in relation to your mixed grip, your double overhand grip is very well.

not many can deadlift over 300 with a mixed grip let alone with a double overhand.

keep working on it!

guys ANYONE will hold more weight with a mixed grip, however there is also the "hookgrip" (NOT HOOKS) but with a hookgrip you still pull double overhand however grip just about has zero say in it, the hookgrip is very painful and bruises the thumbs, it's only for TOUGH bastards.
