Alright my turn

So I have been testing out the dieting for the last week or so. I am a normal guy who lives a normal teenage year, but for my weight i have always done things which other people my weight wouldn't have. I don't know why. Anyway for the first few days i was very commited only eating cheerios with semi-milk in the morning, then an apple or orange in between and then a sandwich for lunch with no sugar squash. After that I don't normally like cooking so i'll just eat cheerios again, or make baked beans with onions and a bit of chilli and eat it with 3 slices of bread. This is what i eat for the first 4 days.

Then, university started, and i hate to say this, but its a hard habbit getting out of it. I always need to eat something for lunch and my friends always take me to fatty foods takeway, like chiken & curry, kfc, pizza hut etc. But since 4 days after that i told them, ill just be getting sandwiches and a bottle of wated for lunch as i can't afford to spend £5 every day and also can't afford those amount of calories.

Of course, with eating this stuff i punish my self in the gym, by doing 20 minute sesion on the bike, full intense, then hitting a tred climber, which is like you climbing, i find this more better than the normal tredmile because you don't need to run and you can stay on it for longer. After this i play about with my self, kicking up football etc. I DO NOT DO MUSCLE WORK etc.

So first day i started i weighed in at 130kg (286 pounds) which i don't even look like :ack2:and today i was like i feel good lets weigh my self, I was expecting to be the same and not changed but i went down to 123kg(271)

So, from of tomorrow, i will keep on of course carrying on but now my trial has worked i will be eating a balanced diet. I don't care what i eat, as long as i eat a sensible amount. Also I WILL be stopping those sugary drinks (not the suger free though :cheers2:) and i'll keep this diary up to date every week.

Any suggestions would be greatful and I hope to reach my target of wearing M sized clothes rather than XL - XXL.

Tomorrow i'll start off my story of what decided me to start losing weight as I have to go sleep :eek:
 
Ok today is the first day I started, So I wen't to uni at 10, i skipped breakfast becaause i woke up too late, :( .

For lunch i don't know what gotten into me but i ate some chicken breast, covered with spices and bread as a take-away, also with that i had a drink which was oasis extra light with like 25 calories. after that i had some lessons untill 5 so i bought a snack, and i know i should've bought some fruit but i decided to stick to my bad habbits and bought some croisants and ribina the extra light one, the original one has way too much sugar in it.

for dinner i was home alone and i don't know how to cook so i had 2 cups of cheerios with semi-skimmed milk. I think that should be just less than the daily calories intake. I walked around for an hour and this is probably the only amount of exercise i got.

For tomorrow, ill get up in the morning early about 9 and go to the town market and buy some fresh fruit so i don't have a excuse and also buy some table tennis bats as i love table tennis and pretty good at it :D
 
Cereal for dinner is not a good idea. While undereating is the general idea of dieting (EAT LESS EXERCISE MORE), that only scratches the surface. You need a healthy balanced diet to lose weight properly.

It seems to me like you are attempting to make too many changes too quickly. Take it from me as a person who has been down this road and have changed my ways. You need to take a proper look at what you eat and fundementally sort out the problems. I changed my diet FOREVER, not just in order to lose the weight.

It is my belief that you should never look at "dieting" but only to change your actual diet. The fundemental difference is that people that "go on a diet" have the full intention of going back to "normal" afterwards. You simply need to learn what normal is and stick to that. Trust me, if you just have a proper, healthy, mixed diet; you will see results.

You should be having over 2000 calories a day. The exercise you do then takes those calories excess calories away and allows weight loss. It is not a good idea to under eat as this is very bad for you, for so many reasons.

And FYI, while those light and diet drinks don't have many calories, they aren't especially good for you. Not everything is about calories.

Thanks man, the real isnpiration to start came actually believe it or not from you. I was reading though your diary and was thinking wow only if i've got to seen pictures and i have and that encoureged me more. Everyday i'll think of you for motivation ;D and yeah, this is my lifestyle, and you're right i need to change the fact of skipping breakfast or this and that. Thanks anyway :D
 
If you can't cook, the pre-packaged microwave/oven meals that WW do are often on offer in Asda and they are very good for you :)
 
Ok sorry about this I missed out on a couple of days due to some hecktic schedule for uni/personal life.

But I'll start of with what I ate,

For breakfast, my house was literally empty :( So i chopped up some apples, a banana, orange, and a handfull of grapes and ate this for breakfast. I drank a glass of semi/skimmed milk with this and off I went to the uni campus.

Lunch, I will always be having this on weekdays, because I'ts either this, or takeawayas :eek: (don't want that route) egg and cress sandwich, (wheat bread) apple with some grapes, and a bottle of water, (the deal you get from tesco's for £2 :D).

Dinner, like I said there is nothing in the house, looked up and down and all i could find was spices etc, last resort, was thinking of making cucumber & tomatoes salad, but had no olive oil/dressing hate tomatoes raw. So i ate a jam sandwich with water down for it.

For exercice, played some football for about an hour which is pretty decent. I don't know why but for my weight it feels so weird of doing this stuff. Like im a 280lb and i am able to sometimes keep up with fit people (of course i will be exausted after this :p ) and also football wise, i am the only fat guy playing and i am pretty decent too :p

let the next day roll I say :D
 
I am broke :( But today I went to morissons and bought some fresh fruits and veg. Right in the morning before I even had breakfast. I walked it all the way to there and back, took me about 45mins, so i could call this an exersice :/

I ate some oatmeal with semiskimmed milk, I added a tiny bit of sugar to make it at least eatable and so i did. With this i had some robisons squach, no added sugar. I had a apple and a orange after this.

after this i had work for about 5-6 hours, so I had a hot chocolate there(it was either this or coffee, and it was freezing, work in a football ground).

got home about 5ish and had my lunch then :eek: vegie soup and a apple and orange after this.

just now, i had some baked beans and bread (50/50).

I had no time for actuall exercise today maybe becase i was tired coming from work but tomorrow i definatly will its sunday and no1 is at the gym :D

For lunch like I said ill be in the uni campus and its either takeaway or sandwiches, so i tend to go for sandwiches, a bottle of water and another peice of fruit.

For dinner, I normally have some chicken breast, brown rice, and a portion of salad.

Exerciese, I always go on the bike for about 20 minutes, and burn about 200 calories, I also go on a tred climber which burns about 300 calories, in 20 minutes time. I dont know if this is too less or too much. :S

current weight 19 stones 8 pounds
starting weight 20 stones 4 pounds
target 12 stones 0 pounds

next weeks target 19 stones 1 pound.
 
I've been looking through and was thinking its much easier to do each week, because for breakfast and lunch i pretty much eat the same thing everytime. :)
 
A 7lbs weight loss target in a week? The bigger you are the easier it is I guess. But if I were you I'd set a target of 3lbs a week.

If you break it, great (sort of, although constantly losing more than 3lbs a week isn't healthy), but it's about the right amount.

Slow and steady wins the race.

for your exercise it doesn't matter what you start on but each time try to make a small improvement eg. a little longer or a little faster. if what your doing is always the same your not giving your body any incentive to improve.
 
Right, it's been a while but of course i've been trying to stick to my routine. I always eat, oatmeal in the morning, like I said before, then always a egg sandwich with a bottle of water, and a snack of apple with grapes.

I aim to always eat about 2000 calories, sometimes i got below that, and burn about 500 per day.

My weight currently as i checked is 123kg which is about 271lb or 19 stone 3 lb.

during this time i will be honest, i have eaten loads of rubish, but this is just to make sure i get the 2000 calories. I go gym like 4 times a week. But from today, i will be very very strict :eek: untill next weds and see the difference.

Current weight 19 stones 3 pounds
target 12 stones 0 pounds

Next week target 18 stone 10lb.

That's the spirit, a lot of people tend to give up after they ate a week of rubbish. In the long term of things one bad weak isn't really going to kill you. Grats on the loss so far and keep it up.
 
So back this week, and like I said in my earlier post, i had to cut down on the junk i was eating, and i significantly have. I'll start with morning foods, which is always oatmeal with a piece of fruit. with lunch, like i said i always eat a sandwich, (always egg and cress, because i don't like cheese. For dinner i always vary from chicken salad, to baked beans and toast, to that to be honest. I know its boring, but its nice and it fills me up :)

Oh yeah I always eat and make sure i drink about 1 1/2 litres of water, and 4/5 pieces of fruit a day.

Like I said i always aim up to eat 2000 calories everyday, (which i never do :( always goes less) and burn about 500 calories.

Now, yesterday was a special occasion for me and i ate loads of junk ( a one off ) So i had a BMT footlong subway :eek: and also i ate a packet of M&M's chocolate bag for the cinema (thats the only bad thing i ate to be honest :D) yeah and just before i went home i ate a quick strip burger.

So, last time i wrote i was 123kg, which is 271 pounds or 19.4 stones(rounded of from .36) This week i have been working hard and i am 120kg which is 18.9 stones(it says on my scale its 19 stones :S its a kg scale with stones on top) or 264lb.

Yeah baby, let the next week roll ;D

Yo wassup.

I just want to say, the two weeks that have just past, are probably the worst i had in my whole dieting stage but i somehow still lost weight. :S

So, for the last 2 weeks, i am literally being easy on my self and allowing to eat anything, like chocolates, crisps, etc etc. but of course i still stick to eating 3 times a day.

With exersice, i havn't been gym lately because of uni work, which is a bitch right now, so i literalyy have no time. But I do play football and anyway let me get to the weight, it might be boring for you. i work in kilo's but i will convert it for you. I am at the moment 116 kilos which is 255 pounds but i still dont understand how i lost weight? :S

Starting weight: 20 stones 4 pounds
Current weight: 18 stones 2 pounds
Target weight: 12 stones 0 pounds

Next week target 17 stone 9lb.
 
I hope you're able to find ways to vary up your diet a little bit; I know living on campus and being college-broke often makes this more difficult.

Congrats on your loss so far; best of luck as you continue.
