Hi everyone. I'm new here. The reason I'm on here in the first place is b/c in one of my social work classes at college I'm required to join an online forum that has something to do with something we're interested in. And since I'm currently trying to lose weight I figured I'd join a weight loss forum! Of all the ones I looked at, this looked the friendliest.

Since August I've been trying to lose weight, approximately 3 lbs a month until the end of July, which is when my boyfriend and I have his uncle's wedding to go to. I've had my ups and downs so far, and until this Monday I was having a down (my weight, not my progress!). This thread looked like a good idea to post on where I can track my weekly (or so) progress.

Really I'm just new here so any kind of advice would help. Like dieting tips, recipes, motivation tidbits, and of course helping me navigate this website!

If you really want to get started on your journal, go ahead and answer the surveys in the stickies so you can begin to track your progress. There is a lot of excellent information around here to get you started on the right path.

Hi and welcome :) I'm pretty new to the forums myself but the one thing I CAN answer is about the sticky lol. A sticky post is something "pinned" to the top of the forum so it doesn't get buried below other threads - usually because they contain valuable information relevant to a lot of people, or FAQs, etc. If you go back to the main Weight Loss Diary forum, you'll see "Sticky: Welcome to the Journals/Diaries at WLF", which is what Andy is referring to :)
