Yesterday was a pretty good day, I stayed on track calorie wise, exercised, and feel alright this morning.
I spent most of the day fixing the last big thing from the waterline leak repair. To get the waterline into my office we had to dig a 1.5 meter deep trench under the awning it was a mess. That was where I kept my firewood, I had to dismantle the wood rack and move the wood. Yesterday I rebuilt the rack and moved the wood back. And did a bunch of leveling to get things back to where they had been before. It was exhausting, but I got done. Did a workout in the morning before hand, but no walk or afternoon workout, except for the real work.
Last night the grandkids came over and we built a fire to roast s'mores, I didn't really get dinner, just an apple and some pretzels. But I did have whiskey, and am still a little slow for it.
Today I will walk, don't think I will attempt the big hike, something more relaxing is what I have in mind.

I like that, think I will take that approach today. That's what my normal walks are for. Who cares where I get to as long as I enjoy it and it calms my brain.
Thanks Liza, I think it has passed, at least some. Today is another day, and while yesterday's food was not ideal, calories were good and 2 of 3 meals were fine. It's hard when the enthusiasm wanes but yes as long as you stick to a good healthy way of being i'm sure it will pass.
Thanks Rob, your insights are appreciated and valuable to me. It does make sense, thought I am not quite sure what to do about it yet. Thinking about it now will help.It was all part of getting comfortable with the new me and I think I should have taken charge of it, or welcomed the challenge, a little sooner. I don't know if that makes sense.
Thanks Jack, what is healthy? I can see that I will probably pass most of the health based things like waist and waist to hip ratio before getting out of the "overweight" and into "normal" BMI. I have not figured out the % body fat thing though. Do you need to get to "normal" to be healthy? For a lot of us it seems "normal" is not really normal.Hey Rob, welcome to the world of BMI "overweight" - something that I very rarely dip out of into "normal" weight. Those standards are tough to beat
That sounds lovely, probably what I will try to do today. The grandkids always talk like they want to hike, but when the time comes it usually loses out to a video game.I want to enjoy them & they are my meditation. I stop & appreciate things like fungus or a mossy rock & I take photos. Sometimes I sit on a log & close my eyes & listen to birdsong or the rustling of leaves in the canopy.
This might be something you can do with the grandkids
Thanks Petal, I plan to. A km or so above our house there is an irrigation canal that has a trail next to it, really an access road for canal maintenance, but hiking is allowed. I think I will walk it, the full length would be about 10 km, not sure I will do it all. Lots of peaches and other fruit orchards along the canal, its nice. And expect for the climb to get to it pretty flat. No mountain challenge.I hope you enjoy your walk wherever it takes you too. Stop and smell the roses ( or the peach blossom )
