It was a great day! LSU beat Alabama!!! I am an LSU (Louisiana State University) graduate, and the only sports team I follow is the LSU football (American) team. LSU is a very good team, but most years Alabama is better, over the past 50 years Alabama has been consistently the best football team in the US. Alabama has ended the season #1 17 times since 1925, LSU has been #1 8 times since 1908, though a few of those years were disputed. That is out of hundreds of college teams. LSU plays Alabama every year, its a big rivalry, but most years Alabama wins. One of my early memories was sitting in the car with my father listening to LSU win the 1958 national championship. Back then college football was only on the radio and the closest radio station that carried the game was WWL in New Orleans, we were in Florida and the only radio we had that got WWL was in the car. Great memory! Both LSU and Alabama went into the game undefeated, LSU has a very good chance at staying undefeated and taking the championship this year.
Enough non diet related talk. I ate well today, no bike ride but like most Saturdays I was pretty busy with errands and work around the house, so I got exercise. I guess weekends are going to be my biking days off. I did get to the Men's shop and got a sportscoat, size 50, the one I gave to Goodwill was a 62, and I remember it being tight!

In 1177 Pope Alexander III sent a letter to Prester John. Prester John is an interesting story, he was a legendary Christian King who was supposed to rule over a Christian country somewhere far to the east of Western Christianity, somewhere in India, China or maybe even Africa. One story has him as a descendant of the Three Magi, ruling a kingdom full of riches, marvels, and strange creatures. Despite reports of supposed travelers and letters of dubious origin neither Prester John, nor his Kingdom ever existed. But for several hundred years a lot of people believed in him.
