I have been to the doctors yesterday because of some menstrual cycle problems ( let's just say it doesn't exist for me). And he said I might have....
polycystic ovarian syndrome which no one knows what causes PCOS. Some researchers think that it may be caused by high insulin production. Insulin is a hormone that controls blood sugar levels.
and this is what caught my eye
Weight loss can help deal with many of the symptoms, but it can be difficult for girls and women with PCOS to lose weight. A doctor or a registered dietician can help. They can look at your medications, food intake, and exercise program and come up with a weight-management program.
The doctor said it might not be that, but that he thinks that, that is what I have so he reffered me to a gyneocologist and so I'm waiting for that appointment now.
I think I understand now why losing weight in the past was always hard.
I signed up here about 3 months ago, and I was doing great, I was excercising, eating amazing , healthy and I lost no weight, and in my other thread that was the first thread for me you will begin to see the hope I lost and the sadness that the no weightloss brought me, causing me to give up completely in the end.
I am a little scared and I think the fact that I finally THINK i know what is wrong with me and all these things I always wondered about, that I finally have an answer and although there is no cure for this, I figure that by taking care of my body physically and by eating healthy that I can help myself greatly and reduce a lot of the risks that come with PCOS.
I am currently around 270lbs, I'm 5'8, I'm 21 and I have a large body frame.
My name is Alisa, and Some of you know me from before and I am ready to get the ball rolling again.
