Ali's Diary

is that a plam tree in the pic? Was the pic taken in Austrailia?
I like to see what Aus looks like..
YOUR KITTY IS SOOOO CUTE!

Hi Christina, yes the photo was taken at my friend's house in a suburb of the area where I live. I live in Wollongong which is about an hour and a half south of Sydney. We are nestled between mountains to the west and the pacific ocean to the east. There's lots of palm trees around here and people commonly have them in the front yard. I can post a better pic of one if you like. If you want to see anything else let me know and I'll try to get a pic of it for you. :) As for Ava she's now 19 months old and still very cute. She also has a baby brother called Ben who is 8 months old :D

Why are weekends soooo hard? During the week I seem to switch onto automatic and know exactly what I'll be eating and when etc but come the weekend there seems to be a lot more decisions to make and temptations to try and avoid. However, this past weekend I have had some treats but all have been within my calorie budget. Phew :D Really need to do more exercise! On leave from work this week so no excuses about haveing no time :(

To Shelly, thank you so much for the kitty pic. She's almost as cute as my furkids ......but not quite ;)

To Rose, a fellow Aussie! :) Where do you live now??

Kudos to you for staying within the caloric budget!
Weekends are hard for me because we always do things that involve food! For instance, Friday afternoon I was whipping up a batch of whoopie pies for my 5 year old's school bake sale. As I am up to my elbows in cake batter he walks in with a note that says the original request for baked goods came home late, so, basically, the bake sale is over. (...and I have how many whoopie pies???) At least I figured that I could take them over to the gals at my Bunco party on Saturday, but there are a few left over, and man, oh, man, do they call my name!!!
Well, the weekend is over, so hopefully things will settle down again, right?
LOL

???????Whoopie Pies. Sorry, I don't know what they are but they sound pretty good  I've visited the USA a couple of times and was in awe of all the goodies you guys have (not good for weight loss huh?).
Today I made a decision. Although I've been doing well enough losing weight on my own I joined Weight Watchers today. I had been thinking about it for a while and decided that I'm the type of person who needs to be accountable to someone/something else and need a more 'structured' plan. But the even better news is that when they weighed me today at WW I had lost more (but not telling just yet ;)).
At least the rain has stopped but it was very hot here today about 95 F. Going to try water aerobics in the morning :)

Good for you! More weight loss and you joined WW. You go, Girl!!!

(I posted a note in my diary about the whoopie pies that explains what they are...)

So glad I decided to rejoin WW :) I'm feeling really good about it. Went walking around the beach yesterday and today and now my knees are v. painful. I have no idea what has happened coz I've been walking for awhile and this is the first time it's happened  Shall give my knees a rest and go swimming tomorrow :) Is anyone starting to think about christmas yet? Tips about not gaining weight at this time greatfully accepted ;)
Otherwise all going well :D

Second week at Weight Watchers....didn't do as well as I could have  Exercise Ok, eating not so good. But today marks a new week and new goals to attain. Today at the WW meeting the leader asked if anyone would be interested in training to be weighers or recorders. What better incentive to stick to the programme than that???? :) It'd be embarrassing to be a weigher and have gained yourself huh!?

Plan for this week: stick to the programme and allowed points; aim to exercise everyday.
