Alicia's Diary

My mom is anxious for us to move out. My mom and I are very different people when it comes to almost everything. We get on each others' nerves alot and the sooner I can move out the happier we will all be. She wants her space back badly and I want my own space. We love each other but just not the best at living together.

Will it be possible to get a place of your own when the child support is sorted? It's hard sharing your personal space when you have gotten used to having it back. I have had both our sons move back home again & while I love them both very much, it's really hard to have them here for any length of time. I love it when they visit or stay for a few days. I am sure that you & your children need your own space too, Alicia & I hope that it will be possible soon. Do you talk about it with your Mum?

Yeah, I think it's tough for grown up children to live with their parents, no matter how much you get on or love each other. I'm sure it will sort itself out soon. Keep seeing the good stuff coming your way!

Not sure what my weight is. Tried 3 different scales and 3 different weights. The one at home seems to be wonky. The kids had it in the livingroom and wanted me to weigh everyone and when I weighed myself it said 204 which is odd cause when I weighed myself 10 minutes before in the bathroom it said I was 210. So I went back and I still weigh 210 in the bathroom and checked my weight in the livingroom and it again said 204. Now last week at my TOPS meeting the scale there said 205. And last night at the home care treatment centre where I work I got on the digital scale there and it said 88.8 kg which is about 195 lbs. So I have no idea how much I weigh. The one at work is a really expensive hospital one so is it possibly right?

I just made a post about the weight scale. If you got any time for yourself. Weight yourself with clothes and no clothes to see the differences.

If you feel your weight scale is broken or glitchy.

Well, tonight at my meeting I was 200.2! So close to the 100s! I worked hard the past week. Soccer on Thursday and a bbq fundraiser at a farm auction sale for my daughter's 4H club were the major workouts I got. And I implemented my new diet plan:

Sunday to Tuesday - low carbs with no desserts except homemade yogurt-berry pops
FASTING 7pm to 6am (if working a day shift next day) or to 8am (if not working a dayshift)
Wednesday & Thursday - regular carbs, mindful eating, maximum 1 homemade dessert
FASTING WEDNESDAY 9pm to 9am next morning
FASTING THURSDAY 7pm to 6am (if working a day shift next day) or to 8am (if not working a dayshift)
Friday & Saturday - any food I want
FASTING 12 hours starting from whatever time I last ate (ie. 10pm to 10am)

ALL WHOLE GRAINS
AT LEAST 7 HOURS REST PER NIGHT (lights out, electronics off even if I'm not asleep)
THURSDAY SOCCER 7pm to 8:30pm
FRIDAY REST DAY
SUNDAY/TUESDAY 5km walk or 10km bike ride
SATURDAY/MONDAY/WEDNESDAY Youtube exercise videos 30 minutes

The big thing for me is no bedtime snacking which is a big thing for me. I've been drinking green tea with a little honey instead. This is a diet/exercise plan I have been slowly developing over time. The plan is to develop a longterm plan that I'll stick to. No fad diets. Not calorie-counting, but mindful eating.

This sounds like an excellent plan Alicia. I think you have it, with mindful eating. It's when I lose track & stop taking notice of what I put in my mouth, that I pile the calories back on. No fad diets, no calorie counting, healthy food, exercise? You have this! :)

Well done, Alicia! In the end it doesn´t matter which scale is correct as long as they´re each consistent so you can see how much your weight is changing. Pick one and roll with it.

I am really happy to say that today I reached my summer goal. I reached 199.4 on the scale. First time in over 9 years I saw a number below 200. Now on to my next goal, to reach the 50-pound weightloss mark which would be 187 pounds. That's my goal to do by the end of November.

Hi,

Nice to see another Western Canadian on here. Wow, you have been going through a lot. Things will get better. It is amazing the things that get thrown at us all at the same time. It can be overwhelming but you will get through it.

Do you have an EAP at work? They may be able to get you some help - both financial and personal. Don't be afraid to ask. It is amazing what is out there but if we don't ask then no one knows we need it.

It sounds like the changes you are making and want to make will benefit both you and your family. Stay strong. You will get there!!
