3 Weeks In............

Hi everyone,

I am new to the whole forum thing when it comes to weight loss, but I think that it can only benefit me in my weight loss journey. i need to write things down, and i think it will help to have the validation of knowing someone might read it and be able to offer some advice.

I am 27 yrs old, happily married and have 2 daughters, 5 and 8yrs old.

On the labour day weekend I seen pictures and video of myself 10 years ago at my engagement party and realised how much I have changed.
This kick started a need to lose weight and do it right THIS TIME.
Ive tried diet programs, duromine, abuse of laxitives, you name it.....no more quick fix i want to do this right and forever!!!!!

On Monday the 8th of March I went and brought a Wii Fit, due to my working from home and my husbands commitments, getting out of the house to exercise isnt a readily available opportunity for me.

Starting weight 116kgs
Height 183cms
BMI 34.6

Any how, been watching what I eat, cut out soft drink which was my biggest vice, replacing it with water, and diet coke if i have and insatiable need for the bubbles.

it is now 29th March and to date I have lost 6kgs. BMI 32.8

I am in a bit of a flap today however coz i am a daily weigher, and for the first time i have put on weight, 1.7kgs, over night!! i was absolutely shattered......but then I looked at what i had done yesterday, which was go for a 6.8km walk with the family, and drink a crap load of water, im thinking maybe the weight is fluid retention???? some advice here would be great to clear my consience.

Any ways thats a bit about me and where I am at and I look forward to Sharing more of my progress with you guys and learning about your stories.

Hey! Good luck on your weight loss, and diary. I just started my diet a little over a week ago and it so far has been great. I think some tips could help you since I just started also.

My first tip would to be stop buying foods that aren't healthy, you cant eat bad stuff if its not there! (I'm only 17 and dont by food, i could only wish I could do this.)

When you eat make sure you eat till your hungry, not full. I know I had that problem also. It takes the body about 15 minutes to register that you ate, so If you eat a little bit then wait you will notice your not hungry anymore.

Also think of working out as some sort of game/sport. Push yourself when working out so when your done you dont want to mess up your work out by eating bad.

Also if your looking for a game to lose weight on, try out Dance Dance Revolution series, its a dance/rhythm game that is fun and challenging, AND burns a lot of calories. And the newer games in DDR have a calorie burn counter.

Good luck, and I hope you meet your goals.

Nice!!

Yay to being on the train to a new lifestyle!! You're doing amazingly well!!

P.S. I am seriously angry with Wii Fit. We went out and bout a Wii, the balance board, and the game because I was all about becoming a daily Wii Fitter... However I currently weigh too much for the fricken Wii to help me get fit!! I showed it who was boss by eating a pint of ice cream while I wallowed in self pity... Oh... Wait...

P.P.S. Daily weighing can be fun and addicting, or soul crushing! It's important to remember that daily fluctuations in weight (up OR down) are not realistic portrayals of fat loss. Your body is shifting around energy stores all the time. Weighing in once a week might be more helpful... But who am I to say since I still weigh in every day! :smilielol5:

Well today is much more prosperous.....lost 800g over night....bloody water weight! I am just so determined to try and do it all right this time and not cheat i guess the rise yesterday just shocked me. I know there are so many reccomendations not to weigh myself everyday but for me it helps me stay on track, just a slight little motivator each morning to keep my ass moving :) Last night I did an hour on the wii fit, various activities, mostly aerobic, and some muscle strengthening ones, sweated up a stom so Im stoked. Took the kids swimming this morning too seeing they are on holidays and will be back to the wii fit tonight :)
I know its going to be a long slow trek to doing it right but I need to do it for me and my family.
