Advice needed! How do I get bigger legs?

Hi there,

I am a naturally thin person but I would like to get bigger legs without losing any weight. A lot of exercises I see on the internet focus on weight loss and involve burning calories which I don't want to do. I would like to be able to increase the muscle mass in my legs, but not too muscley I don't have any fitness equipment to train with.

I am a fitness/exercise novice so any advice would be much appreciated.

Here's a good starting place for exercise ideas that use minimal or no equipment:

Free Exercises, Exercise Instructions, Custom Workout, Personalized Workout, Ab Exercises, Abdominal Exercises, Training Programs

Start with 1-2 sets of 10-12 reps of a few different exercises that target different muscle groups, then go from there!

Things like squats and lunges are great, and if you can work in some plyometric-type exercises, like squat jumps or lunge exchanges (do a lunge, then jump and switch legs into another lunge), you'll get an even better workout!
 
I would just add going with slightly heavier weights and fewer reps, e.g., 5 sets of 5 reps. The last rep should be difficult but not drain you.
