Abs/ Dumbell Weights Questions

Hi, i want to ask a question about abs and about free weights.

Are the lower abs the hardest to show up? iv been training for about 2-3months and you can see the shape of 4 abs but the lower abs arent showing up as much as the middle and upper abs.

And i've been working with my weights at home to different parts of the body and different routines. I have about 10kgs in each arm, 2 dumbells weighing 10kg each, if i buy another 10kg for each will it help me build my muscle more? or should i give it little more time? i'm not finding 10kg very easy but they feel alot lighter since i started training

Have you tried reverse crunches? they are great for targeting the lower abs. You may also want to try adding some ankle weights to your ab workout also. I do about 2.5# each ankle (I think it is about 1.1kg I believe !?!?lol) but that may help you out there. As far as the free weights, you may want to look into a weight set w/ a bench and barbell. The dumbbells are good but there is just so much more you can do w/ a weight set, bench & barbell. Also you may want to pick up this book (Strength Training Anatomy) if you don't have it already. It is a great book, full of different strength training exercises. Here is a link so you can check it out.

Yes the lower abs are the hardest to show off because of the extra fat that builds up. How's your diet? diet accounts for 80% of how you look. Keep up with the intense workouts, keep your diet clean and you'll see results. Crunches alone isn't going to do it. You have to decrease body fat to show abs.
Also a lot of times 6-packs are genetic. No matter how hard some people work, the definition doesn't show up like on others.

Keep working hard and you'll get the results. And yes, add weight. You should always be progressing up.
