abs and weight gain

ok im 15, 5'6 and 125 lbs. i have been lifting for about a week or so now but havent done crunches. i was wondering if i would gain more weight by doing crunches and getting nice abs or just not really anything for the stomach.thanks iw ould like to know asap:)
 
Ok So your object is weight gain? well if you wanting lean mass gain then you can not expect it in just one week. Usually one can gain (depending on many variables) about half a pound to 2 pounds max of lean body mass a month.
 
Make sure you are stabilizing your core muscles and conditioning them as well, and you will not have to spend too much time on actual crunches if you are doing your other exercises properly. You may not actually gain much more weight just by working your abs, but the rest of your workout will be more efficient and you'll be less likely to hurt yourself.
 
Its all about the core man!!! Also to have those magazine ripped abs the two biggest factors are Body fat % and diet. Improve both and you'll be ripped up in no time.
