Abdominals...left more defined then right side!

hi guys,

I've been working out for a while now and started noticing that although my abs are actually starting to show...the ones on the left hand side look more defined than the ones on the right!?!?

Can any1 offer any valuable tips on how i can work out the 'weaker' side in order to get both sides looking practically the same?

Many thanks in advance,

Keith

bah i got the same problem...
the upper left 'block' is seriously underdevelopped... i think it's because i got back problems, or rather the other way around, or a vicious circle thing, whatever... but it keeps getting worse; because the upper right 'block' actually takes over the work from the left one so the right one keeps growing while the left one doesn't get trained...
i'm just planning not to train my abs that much, only try to focuss more on the sides & lower abs (i don't believe that every exercice trains the entire abdominal; i can clearly feel the difference, and conctract parts of it while other parts less etc). and leave some fat etc so it doesn't get too obvious... make sure that you don't really see them as long as you don't flex them...
cuz i'm afraid it's impossible to change it... although i thought of this kind of electrical machine that shocks the muscle and causes it to contract; perhaps if i were to place it on the weak 'block' it would train this alone, but i doubt that'd be very effective... :x

i have had success in approaching this problem by doing 2 things.

The first is to balance sit/lay on the machine/matt with equal wt on both left and right sides of my body. if the right side is stronger you will most likely find that you have more body wt on that side.

Once i get that set, then perform the crunch in a straight path..not twisting during the movement. this helps me to acces the week side and thus more fully develop it.

once i am feel comfortable with that motion i perform crunches that foucs on one side or the other.
