A simple story revolving around complicated goals!

Good afternoon to everyone, I am Hugo, I am 23 years old. I have had a diary in here already in the past, one to two years ago. I had succeeded in losing 45 kgs ( from 115 kgs to 70 kgs ( 253 lbs to 154 lbs ) thanks to a lot of support from the wonderful people of this community.

70 kgs felt unhealthy though and I didn't feel well for quite some months until I started to gain again to around 80 kgs/176LBS ( I remember this as being the point where I felt the best), I am now at around 87 kgs I gained back some fat but also a lot of muscles due to my newest occupation, I am rather happy with my weight ( I wish I could go back to 80 kgs-ish though ).

My biggest problem recently is that I have been eating a lot more, especially in the evening, my occupation keep me physically active for the whole day so in the end of the day I feel like I could eat a lion, and it tends to make me sick, I haven't learned the good way of handling my hunger provoked by my new occupation yet, so I am looking to work on it!

My goals are :

Losing some weight
Regulate my daily food intake to feel better.

I wish you all a good day, I wish to keep updating this thread on a daily basis :) Thanks for reading, have a nice day everyone!

Hi Hugo, welcome back to the forum! What are your plan for regulating your food intake? Do you prepare food and healthy snacks in advance and take it with you. Healthy maintenance is just as important as losing the flab so I´ll be watching you (ouch, that sounds creepy, I meant I´ll be watching your diary!).

I probably won't change my eating habit for noon at least, I usually it reasonably as I am not the one preparing, and I never eat in-between lunch, I used to 2 years ago, but after my 6 months diet this habit stayed, which is a good thing, my biggest problem is in the evening, I need to regulate how much I eat and what I eat, after all, I shouldn't need too much calories just to go to sleep, but after a long day work, I feel so hungry. I need to find ways to fill that hunger.

Thanks for passing-by Maria :)

In the morning I almost don't eat, or don't eat at all, if I eat it'd probably almost nothing, I barely drink either, then I work until noon, at noon, I eat moderately, then I go back to work and come back around 6 pm and then this diner I eat a lot, too much. It makes no sense but my work is physically heavy, so I guess my body asks for it.

Good luck! I also don't eat breakfast. I then have a really light lunch (around 300 cals) so I can eat the large majority of cals for the evening as that's when I am hungry and like to eat.

Wouldn´t you get less hungry at night if you had a bit more breakfast/lunch? If you have an active job your body is pretty much running on empty. I couldn´t do that, but of course I´m a breakfast person :)

Oh well, body runs until you're out of fat I suppose, I did eat this morning to try, forced myself, so we will see if it helps.

Weight in at 87 kg today.

The body can run on fat very well but once your glycogen is exhausted it doesn´t run efficiently, making you feel less energetic. Strenuous physical activity under those circumstances is more likely to cause breakdown of muscle tissue for energy as it´s easier for the body than breaking down fat stores. I fully realize that eating breakfast when you´re not used to it is hard but maybe you can start with an apple or something. Taking fruit for snacks is another way to keep your energy levels up without getting fat.

Yea, true. I will try and probably eat an apple at some point of the day.

I weight in at 87.3 kg today, I hadn't had bowel movement for 3 days, so I don't know if it has an impact on my weight.

Bonjour* Hugo, I think to echo what everyone else is saying, you need to spread your eating out during the day, especially if you have a physical job (just curious what is it?). Are you drinking a lot of water? That's going to control your appetite, and you really should drink more if you're working as hard as you say.

What are you eating on an average day?

It's always different, I got a cooker whom name start with the letter M, and she does very good at making fatless food.

87.3 kg today!
So far I am at least not gaining, altho I have gotten a lot bigger recently ( muscle-wise ) I don't do weight lifting or so but the job makes me lift a lot anyway, so I wonder how much weight the gained muscle in comparison with the fat I am maybe losing in reality.

Hope everyone has a good day!

I like push-ups, especially when done really slowly with correct form. There´s something satisfying to the way all those muscles cooperate to carry you.

Hi Hugo! An increase in activity means you should in theory increase your food intake. I agree with what the others are saying in spreading it out. Do you eat a lot of protein and healthy fats? An increase in those might help you maintain your muscle and keep your hunger at bay. :)
