Job Done - A new begining

Well, today I achieved a BMI of <30. For the first time in probably 20yrs.

So much has happened in my life since I started this journey and there is so much "other stuff" going on, some good some not so good, that I don't feel at all as I expected to feel when this day arrived.

The last few weeks, weight loss has been really slow, I've had some of the longest periods of NOT achieving a "record low" since I started - I almost got to thinking that I'd never quite make it. All thoughts of a celebration have been shelved - too much "not so good" going on to be celebrating anything at the moment.

But I'm here.

I will continue, I certainly want to get below 14St (196lbs) into the 13s and from there it's not so far to 12st which is my weight for a BMI of 25.

I've learnt a great deal about food and nutrition and about me - I've changed a lot more than my numbers, my body shape and my wardrobe.

Thank you to everyone who supported me on this journey, two of you in particular - Hope you achieve your goals too.

Thank's.

Rob (No longer BigBob)

The end of the tunnel is in sight

After a long summer of not really changing weight - neither up nor down - I finally decided that I was gonna tighten up my regime and really go for a BMI of 25.

Last 2 weeks I've lost 4lbs and this morning I achieved 13st, BMI 27.0

So I popped back and read my diary here, seemed right to add an entry too.

I've got a few birthdays coming up - with the obligatory evenings out, so don't expect to progress much over the next week, but I've proved I can still do it - and that the basic rules apply - you've got to take more out than you put in.

Since starting out on this journey, I've discovered jogging. Last month I completed a 5Km - although I missed my target of sub 30mins by a few seconds. I've now discovered a regular, timed, 5Km every Saturday. (Check out 'Park Run') - and 2 weeks back, I achieved 29M 3 Sec.

So, if you've read this far, and you're contemplating losing weight yourself, then I hope this will encourage you. Remember, I started out arguing with the Dr that "people my size don't loose weight" and here I am within 8lbs of not being "fat".

Congrats on doing the 5k's. I'm going to start getting back into those probably in April or May. I'm pregnant and so there's no weight loss for me! I'm due Feb 7 and you need to heal for about 6-8 weeks after that. Plus I'll have to start up slowly to try and get back into shape since I haven't been able to do much this pregnancy (stupid nausea never went away).

Anyways, congrats on your 4 lb loss recently and I know you'll keep on going! Good luck :D

Well, I'm back.
Last few months I've been socializing quite a lot and my weight has been creeping back up. This morning I was 205.8 Way higher than I ever wanted to be ever again - so I've got to knuckle down and shift it.
To make matters worse end of last month, I rented a Concept2 Rowing Machine and have been using it daily, Sat I rowed 10K, Sun did a new PB at 2K, this morning did 30:00 mins. I had hoped that by reintroducing exercise into my life, it would inoculate me against the weight gain - but alas that's not proving to be the case.
But on a positive note - I've got biceps again :)
