I think this is great Mal. I am looking to do a similar thing but there are not as many events in my area... but that gives me reason to travel!!

If I don't sign up for them now, I will put it off and put it off and never get around to doing it... I just need the charities to get their butts together and post their events... there's a certaiin dollar amount I will spend per year.. I'd like to know ahead of time what's coming up..

Wait -what am I supposed to eat.. what am I supposed to do for exercise and how m any times... Is it ok to do more than one 1/2 a marathon in a year don't i need to rest.. How do you rest?

Hello Mal. What does your signature line mean? You haven't taken up smoking and drinking again have you? I don't remember if you used to smoke or not....
 
I got incredibly frustrated on another site with people and their idiotic new years resolutions with absolutely no plan to accomplish their new years resolutions basically dooming themselves to failure... they didn't quite get it..

my signature which I'm now using on multiple sites, is my passive aggressive approach to show my annoyance...

I've decided that for my new years resolution i'm going to restart smoking and work on becoming an alcholic (if figure with my famiy history of alcholism it'll be easy... However since I have no plan in place to actually do this -and quite frankly I'm too cheap to buy a pack of cigarettes, which would be the first step in starting smoking, my resolution is doomed to fail...

When we fail to plan, we plan to fail :)

Passive aggressiveness is sometimes fun though when i have to explain that I'm being passive aggressive, it really takes a lot of the passiveness out of it :)

For me it doesn't feel like work, it's more like a passion, something I'm born to. Gotta be my three quarters Irish hating my one quarter English and drinking our troubles away.

Passive aggression is the best, but it doesn't burn many calories...

I'm jealous. I want to do a 5K this summer, but can't find one in NY. I know they have them, maybe they didn't list them yet.
 
The Komen race for the cure is September 13, 2009


Revlon's is May 2, 2009


The parks department has the Lebow classic coming up but don't list summer events y et..


Check with local running stores as well -they generally sponsor a lot of events.. .
