A new stage of the journey

Training seems to be going well and next week my training realy tapers of so I am fully rested. After a week break I am back on PSMF for a while and I have started to track my food again. Although I have not been loosing much in the way of weight a fair number of people have been comenting that I look fitter and asking if I have lost weight.

Today is a rest day but I will get in a bit of cardio this afternoon at football (soccer) training.

In your case I can honestly say that you've probably lost fat and gained muscle. I refuse to say that for 90% of people cause its just not true lol.

THURSDAY 16-Jul

Dynamic Bench Press 8X3 @ 50 kg
Close Grip Bench Press 3X8 @ 77.5 kg
Tricep Pushdowns 3X5 @ 90 kg
Skull Crusher 3X5 @ 50 kg

It will feel a bit odd having a much shorter workout tomorrow as I start my taper redy for next weekend.

Holy schmoly that VibraGym sounds tough!

You are a machine woman!!! :D go go go for those Nationals!!!!!!!!

Today was the first day of my taper into next week so today was deadlift only with no assistance exercises

2X2 @ 105 kg (231 lb)
1 @ 120 kg (265 lb)
1 @ 130 kg (287 lb)

the 130 kg felt good and I don't believe i maxed out, my training program for the last 3 months has focussed on Bench Press and only strength maintenance for deadlift and squat. I have had a little improvement in deadlift especially my grip strength which was prone to fail in the past at 130.

After next weekend I am giving myself the next goal of achieving a 100 kg (220 lb) bench press and qualifying for next years commonwealth titles.

the final list of competitors has been posted for next weekend

all I have to do now is overcome the nerves :)

That's awesome that people have noticed you looking more fit! That's more proof than any scale..

Wishing you the best of luck in your competition!

Just finished an 8k walk/jog in 1 hour, I didn't sweat much but it was a good cardio workout.

Hey there,

Just stopping by. Looking at your comp you got coming up this weekend. You getting excited or what? I know youve worked pretty hard for this, the proof is in your journal!
I'll be cheerleading all the way from the states! :s

Final Training session

Bench Press
5 X 60 kg (warmup)
2 X 80 kg
2 X 85 kg
1 X 90 kg
1 X 92.5 kg (204 lb)

Big weight loss this week Down to 81.2 (179 lb) on the scales I use for weigh ins at home that is a drop of 2.6 kg (5.7 lb)

My losses recently have been VERY slow than all of a sudden Whoosh.

No celebrations for me till after sunday but the loss does open up the remote posibility for me to qualify for commonwealth this year rather than next but I do mean remote as I would need to raise my gym lift by another 2.5 kg at the next lower weight division at a comp 2 weeks after the nationals. I have to maintain my current divison for sunday but I am confident i will win :D I will know how likely it will be to make weight at the lower division when i weigh in on sunday on the calibrated competition scales.

Way to go Tru! :hurray: You sound pretty confident - and whew, Commonwealth Games are we talking? You've made it hon. :)

Thanks for the info on the VibroGym btw... and you're right I do live in Melbourne and I might drop into one of those gyms soon and see it for myself! (Got to resemble something in the ballpark of 'fit' first...)

Well done on that fantastic weight loss! Isn't it a great feeling! :hurray:

I fly out tomorrow morning, weigh in on Sunday (6 am) then lift a couple of hours later.

Just a quick post, it is almost 10 pm now, I will try to log in over the weekend from an internet cafe if I have a chance and report on the Nationals.
