A new stage of the journey

thanks for dropping in everybody, JZ the workout for Muay Thai is awsome and adds a new element to my my existing Judo skills (I used to compete at state level till i tore all of the ligaments in my right knee) we do a lot of bag work and no katas.

Anke don't worry about it, it's so easy to asume about ppl online :) it freaks a few blokes out at the gym when they see a chick lifting more than they do and there has been a fair number of young guys that have tried to lift my weights and almost done themselves serious injury. I think its an ego thing.

The older men have usually grown out of most of the silly ego lifting.

cinderelly ya gotta love those pushups :)

Wow, your workouts are impressive! I think I need to get my butt back to Crossfit after reading your post. I was ROFLMA when I read the thing about guys being freaked out by women lifting more than them:smilielol5:. When I was hardcore into Crossfit a year ago and I would go lift weights at a regular gym, the guys would get all pissy and try to show me up and then they'd just end up in serious pain. Keep on breakin' down the male egos and building YOUR body up!

Hehehehe, all this talk! Reminds me of a while ago when I was just getting seriously into the weight training at gym, I was getting great improvements and it was so exciting. Unfortunately had to end my gym membership for financial reasons.

I'm now seriously considering investing in at least some dumbells for a start! Why do I feel the irresistable urge to yell "GIRL POWER!!" ??? :smilielol5:

HaHaHa - yes, yes you do:puke:!

On a side note Im doing stuff I never thought I would be doing or could do:)

Awesome on another personal best! But why shoud any of us be surprized:D

I got a good giggle at your "light day" comment

I was wondering do you take a multi and or if you could reccomend a good one, or do you just try to get everything you need out of the food you eat ?

Appearantly the one I was talking isn't really any good.

doxiegirl thanks for dropping in, lol men are just like little kids sometimes.

Karl, you hit the gym pretty hard yourself :)

Anke, Go for it GIRL POWER

cinderelly you have been doing great with your bood camp :) I don't take a multi but I do drink a protein suppliment and have extra iron, the rest i get from food.

Spent an hour with my coach this afternoon, learned a few new stretches and need to take it easy on my right shoulder as it is a bit "Unstable"

after discussing my goals for next comp my coach thinks i should be able to hit at least a 155 kg (341 lb) squat by april. I have been given diamond pushups on a bosu and a strange exercise with a wobble stick to do. Will get worked hard tomorrow by my coach after measurements to work out a new training program. I am not to do anymore dips as to much preasure is being put on my shoulder.

Afterwards I got caught up in the karate classes water fun day and was thouroughly soaked by 3 buckets of water courtesy of another parent and many attack from assorted water pistols (a water fight is a workout in itself)

ok this morning i find out what my current measurements are, it has been about 6 months since I had a fell set of measurements taken but it will set a new baseline for my training. and the workout this morning will be intense with my coach. I have not been nervous about going to the gym in a long time but getting measurements done seems to do it to me.

Ha that water fight sounds cool, although, Im not sure I would like to have bucktes dumped on me, LOL...

I hear ya about the measurements but you sound very much in shape...If I had a fraction of the physique I imagine you with , with your work outs then Id have no worries, LOL.

In Boot Camp we do a pre fitness test and measurements and then agian after wards...However getting my measurements done opened my eyes a bit man, lol...my hips:(oh boy my hips:(

Even though I didnt loose a lb while doing boot camp i lost abt 5 inces or so and I am looking more toned and flatter just from 4 weeks.Im hooked and will stay as long as I can manage to afford it and till i get in shape.

had my measurements, most were up 1-2 cm (1/2 inch) which is not good but BF% was stable, I am hard to measure with the calipers because I have very little fat on triceps and biceps but plenty round the middle lol.

You're getting there, I can feel it! Keep up the awesome work Truslyver! You're definitely a trooper!

the lower weights yesterday has kicked my ass, my core muscles are so sore it hurts to do much :) small changes to routine can make a big difference. I am so glad my coach has said not to workout again till monday, I don't feel guilty about missing my saturday morning workout, going shopping 2.5 hours drive away instead.

the added difficulty of doing common exercises with an unstable footing is more of a challenge than it looks (lunges on Bosu)

I am realy feeling the heat badly this weekend, I don't know what the oficial temperature was yesterday but my temperature gauge was reading 42c(107F)
and the evening storm did little to cool things down, so my sleep has be awfull, it is still early here at the moment but looks like it is going to be another stinker of a day :( humid and hot.

I have just been asked to be a featured member on yahoo answers, I have no idea why they would want to feature me ?????

Stretching

Wow you did 30 mins on the rower and then did upper body exercises:hurray: You are awesome, seriously. And don't worry about the numbers going on your measurements. 1-2 centimeters is very tiny, and the rise could have been due to a number of things.

it is monday night, I am bored, i am hot and sweaty and uncomfortable but at the same time i am remarkably relaxed ofter a fuull bottle of Chardonnay, it has been over 6 months since i had any alcohol and i think it has affected me a little more than usual, the fking kids have been on holidays less than a week and are driving me up the wall, and i wish i could skip christmas :banghead:

Great to see ya MJ - I have just started getting in comp mode for my training to get ready for state titles in april and if all goes to plan then nationals a couple of months after that. I want to go one better than this year not just State Powerlifting Champion in my Division but I want to be Australian Champion in my division. my best chance is in Bench press only (Australian Bench Press championships) but working hard to nail all three lifts for the Powerlifting championships.

this morning will be a super heavy day with my new routine from my coach followed by a 1 hour cardio fit mix class if i am still able to stand. I am taking my eldest son in to do the class today now that he has an upgraded gym membership (he has a higher level membership than i do lol) part of his xmas gifts this year.

My youngest was overjoyed yesterday, he is now ready to grade on the next grading day for his MMA after having dropped back to a white belt from green after moving up an age division and he earned a new merit badge for his Gi.
