Hey guys

I really need help.

Been feeling so low lately and I've been turning to food and alcohol for comfort.

I haven't put any weight on YET but I really need to stop this cos it's getting me nowhere.

I will go through the day eating nothing, maybe a banana and an apple or something, but then at night I just eat and drink loads. So so so bad and wrong I know. :(

I really need some words of encouragement. I feel like I am failing and I really don't want to.

Do this:

Plan your day out right now (either for today/tomorrow depending what time it is there).

08:00 - 30minute walk (this way, even if you end up doing nothing else, you know you exercised)

08:30 - Healthy breakfast (try your usual fruit plus some cereal and yogurt mixed in)

09:00 - Spend some time doing something you enjoy (a hobby or exercise)

and so on and so on...

Is the problem maybe that you have nothing to do now that school's out? What options are available to you for entertainment during the day in the week? Do you have a friend that will join you in getting healthy... maybe walk with them, or organise to meet at your place or hers and do your exercise tape together.

Start a project for the holidays. Maybe you want to spring clean your whole room. Break it down and do a section each day. Maybe try and incorporate a set beauty routine for the week... face masks, foot scrubs, your own manicures and pedicures, as well as body brushing can all be done on certain days once a week. This helps for me as I love pampering myself!

Another plan is to attack the food head on! Find some cool recipes that you have the ingredients for (and that are deliciously healthy), then get busy in the kitchen.

Do you have a garden? Planting herbs to use in your foods is great... plus gardenings a bit of exercise! And what about tanning and swimming??

Also make sure you don't slack on water... get those 8 glasses or whatever in. And your veggies, you'll start feeling sluggish if you don't keep your healthy habits up now!

Maybe now is also the time to investigate some strength training... find some body weight exercises you can do in your room... then do them in front of the TV!

Phew, I hope you find something in there. And remember howe excited you were about having free time to focus on being healthy!?

I did some of my workout tape today. I only did half an hour cos my bad ankle started to ache and it's hip hop dancing so it's quite energetic. I love dancing, I can't wait to get back into it when I start university :)

That's a really good idea about gardening herbs and stuff. I will ask my mum if we can go and get some seeds some time soon.

I'm going to my boyfriend's this weekend for a Volkswagen car show - we are camping on Saturday night with a load of friends then Sunday is the actual show. I will get in a lot of exercise from all the walking around the site because we will be going around a lot looking at cars. And it's enjoyable so I don't get bored. I don't even really think of it as exercise. :)

Today I have been good with food. I had a banana and an apple for breakfast then a strawberry cereal bar as a snack. It's almost 3pm so I will probably just have a small lunch cos otherwise I will be too full for dinner. Oh and I tried to eat some strawberries but some of them were a bit mouldy for some reason.. weird, we only got them yesterday. Oh well.

Oh and it's that time of the month again which could be a reason for my self pitying and cravings. I know it's not an excuse but I am happy to know that I'm not just going mad lol.

On Friday I am probably going to London with my best friend to do some shopping and general sight seeing. Will hopefully get some walking exercise in then!:)

Calves: 42cm -1.0cm
Upper arms: 36cm -2.0cm
Lower arms: 25.5cm +1.5cm
Wrists: 15cm -0.0cm

Total cm loss = 12cm or 5 inches
Total cm gain = 4cm or 1.5 inches

not too bad! But the scales are still not telling me I have lost anything....oh well.
 
Nice losses! Just try a week of only healthy choice foods... may get you kickstarted again... as well as planned and regular workouts during that week. Then see what happens!

Tomorrow is my prom! ARGH! I have my dress (in the size 14 and it fits perfectly, yay) and I can't wait!! I'll make sure I post pics. Be prepared for fat arms - I swear they are so much fatter than the rest of me lol.

Is the ankle any better?? Have you graduated yet? If there is a local college around you.. many offer just a weight training class for just the cost of 1 or 2 credit hours... Much cheaper than a gym membership... and they usually have a pool and elliptical... My FAVORITE equipment of choice... so easy on the lower limbs!!! Congrats on the progress... And your arms really aren't huge!!! I think we all have liar goggles when we look at ourselves! If you seriously hate them... take 2 cans of food... anything.. like cans of greenbeans or corn.. and while you sit on the couch watching tv... lift them over your head behind you... and extend them straight up it totally tones the back of your arms.. and you are so engrossed in what you are watching that before you know it your arms are beautiful... just some food for thought!

THat is a good thing... just means you are building muscle and losing the nasty fat!!! I've found a great new motivation.. watched a liposuction on the health channel... seeing the crap they took out of that woman.. EW GROSS... I don't want that covering my body and clogging my arteries...
