A NEW LIFE DIARY. . .m24m

Heck I haven't cleaned this flat in like 3 weeks... !!!
When I'm on a weight loss mission, everything gets put on the back burner. And I seriously mean everything, since it needs my utmost concentration or I get side-tracked. Cos nothing matters more than health right ? :):cheers2:

Wow...... I don't know how you cope, with 4 kids and housework but I really think you deserve 100% to cut yourself some slack, in the tidying/cleaning department ...... look after number one occasionally -- that's not only good for you but others around you will also benefit as you get thinner & happier & sexier !

Also don't worry too much about those occasional pizza episodes, cos they're just a minor blip on the road to slimness. We can all allow ourselves the occasional treat and just get right back on track the next day.

Hubby not being supportive ... hmmm, that certainly rang a bell with me, oh yes, but probably he's the sort of person who doesn't have weight issues so just doesn't get it (my ex bf was the same, he just didn't GET it which is fair enough as he was a stick no matter how much he ate).
Sometimes when we feel a wee bit neglected we just have to turn to other people (like those on this forum:)) who are travelling the same journey cos they know what it's all about.

Well you take care there and don't be too hard on yourself ! :) :)
 
There is no healthy slice of pizza we are food adicts and we making excuses to be fat. I have tried evrithing, eny kind of diets and the worst thing was when after of a year of strugle, and after 60 lbs, I say, one slice of pizza or somethin like that, wont kill me. Sey no to junk food forever, that is only way out of fatnes!!::grouphug:

I don't agree with you....if you say no to everything you like (because what I really like would obviously kill my diet...chocolat, pizza, bread etc.) you will creat reavenousness which will obviously kill your diet more :toetap05: And what I think is, that it happend in your case....did you forbid yourself everything you like while loosing weigth?
Have you ever seen thin people who do not eat pizza/Junk food and sweets? I haven't they just don't eat that much that they get fat and that's something "we" have to learn as well. Everything else will just creat other bad eating habits and we want to get ride of bad eating habits!
And always keep in minde: Eating is not all about keeping your body working but it is also about pleasure.

Yes you can have pizza sometimes.. It's a lifestyle not prison!!! If you count calories and in your calories your allowed pizza than why the hell can't you eat it.. Maybe your addicted to junk food.. don't make your issues everyones fact.. People who know how to measure right and not overdue it can still eat everything they want.. It's learning to manage your food intake..:) So I disagree with your opinion... :cheers2:

You always now how to lift me up and put a smile on my face :D big cheeses. .I honestly haven't been doing a whole lot to change I mean I did stop drinking coffee but started that up again, "no biggie" right now anyway I will change that later on down the road. when I first came here I was juicing and had lost a few pounds and I could drink juice and not feel sick so I am wanting to do that again but I really need to invest in a good juicer as for now I guess I can deal with the cheap ass blender I have. .lol. .I have been eating more fruits and I love veggies so I am good with veggies, as for the pizza I wasn't really beating my self up for the fact that I ate the pizza it was more that I was pissed at my self for eating TWO pieces when I was full off of ONE. .grrr. .that is what I get for not listening to my body!

Girl, I do know what you are saying!! You're right it's not the counting calories that is hard but rather the getting the RIGHT foods for your calories that I am finding to be a struggle but I am getting there. and I totally here you about the cleaning thing even with out kids. .shit when I was a kid my friends called my Cinderella cause I swear I did everything BUT cook. ..lol. .I know that is something everyone has to deal with. . Thanks so much for stopping in. .You are totally right! Our health is way more important then house work but I have a small case of OCD. .so I am trying to incorporate cleaning with some exercise! I really need to set aside just a certain time do things that will work for me and still have a clean house. .I am a huge rearrange. If I can't rearrange SOMETHING I go crazy!!! LOL. .I think that is kinda good it gets me sweating anyway. .lol yesterday I had done some laundry and with my kids shirts I ran one by one to lay them on there beds. .LMAO. .I felt like an idiot but no one was here so I didn't care.


I am sorry but I have to respectfully disagree with you to. .I think as long as we listen to our bodies and not over do anything we can be just as healthy ans skinny Minne over there, like I said before it was the fact I didn't listen to my body after one piece and went ahead and ate two and felt physically ill after wards. .and Like schokobaerchen said, had I been counting calories already I would have known that you CAN have pizza with in reason. .besides you can make a very healthy home made pizza with out all that nasty grease and such on it. .I have plenty recipes for that I think I will give one a try next week sometime.

so far so good today. .seems like it will be a good day, I am dog sitting this weekend and I am kinda excited because it will force me to go out and walk she is a very old dog and I don't really know how far she can walk but none the less walking is walking right? I just got the kids of to school although I have one more at home sick today. .crappy Germany weather. .grrrr. . I tell you the thing about having kids is that there is never a dull moment . .lol. I wouldn't trade in my big family for anything. .I am bitch about it but they are what keeps me sane and I live for them. .I wouldn't know what to do with out anyone of em. Are you married? Maybe I can help you with the calorie thing (although it seems you're doing just fine as you are now with the juicing and lifestyle approach). Bodybuilders use a rule of thumb or 10x to 12x their body weight for cutting fat (they're trying to spare the most of their muscle that they can, and they certainly get their body fat very low). However, if you Google BMR calculator, get that number. BMR is your basal metabolic rate, the baseline calories your body needs to function if you just lie in bed and breathe. The averge person, getting some light exercise/daily activities, can take their BMR and comfortably add 500 calories and still lose weight. More important than anything else, you never want to consume less than your BMR for an extended period of time, that's what really sabotages your weight loss efforts because you start hanging onto fat and burning muscle, which causes your metabolism to grind to a halt and then creates a yo-yo situation once you start eating normally again.

IMO, if you're seeing reasonable (not over 2 lbs a week) consistent results then keep doing what you're doing :coolgleamA:

If you really want to see a professional to for weight loss and lifestyle advice, see a nurtitionist, or even a certified trainer, not a doctor. Doctors only get a couple of weeks of training about diet and nutrition and exercise in medical school.

I went to this site and I should be eating 1428.4 calories to lose weight but that is only if I don't exercise, I need to go back and do it for when I do exercise so that I am not doing it wrong and get stuck like you said. .this diet shit is getting old!!!!!!!! I haven't eaten anything yet today. .just been busy and I know how bad that is but dang.. . oh yes I did for lunch I had a breakfast bar that had I think 110 calories and for dinner I am going to make sauerkraut and sausage. .that is low calories and I didn't even know it till just a minute ago. .see I'm doing it and don't even realize it sometimes. .LOL. .now if only I can do it ALL the damn time. One thing I have done tho is I don not drink soda AT ALL anymore I was drinking tons of it and now that I think of it maybe that is why I dropped 7 pounds when I first started and had nothing to do with the juices at all. .or maybe the juice just helped clean me out of it all. . . things that make you go HMMMMMMM. . . .

Sugar can make me hold water (I've always wondered if I have a little latent diabetes or hypoglycemia going on, I have some really weird reactions to sugar). However, if they were caffeinated sodas then you've got the one-two punch of sugar plus caffeine. Remember, caffeine is a diuretic. The thing you have to remember though, if you're somewhat dehydrated your body retains fluids. So once you reduce caffeine and/or start increasing usable fluids (waters and natural lower sugar juices) your body lets go of that water. That's why you constantly hear the "drink more water" refrain. By the time we feel thirst our bodies are actually mildly dehydrated.

Hey :) I came across a post of yours so thought I'd swing by your journal. I agree with you on the pizza thing. Maybe some people have to do that but this is the first time I've ever successfully lost weight and that's because I've stopped treating some food as evil. I make healthier choices but I allow myself other stuff in moderation and that's kept me from going "off" my diet. Plus you can get thin crust veggie pizza! Don't see what's bad about that. Anyway looking forward to making a new weightloss buddy :) Take care ~Lisa
 
thats how i live my life as well... you can eat any thing you want as long as its in moderation (although i forget the moderation part occasionally =P )

I'm here where I am (240 lbs) becouse I tought that I can eat slice of pizza , serbian komplet pinya, and other stuff like that. If pizza iz killing me I' gonna runa away frome that evila and eat 8it no more. I' on diets for last 5 years and this time is for real NO PIZZA:cheers2:

Everyone is different so I'm very glad you found what works for YOU :) Some foods are trigger foods for some people and it's good to know what to stay away from.

OMG. .I am so stoked right now!!! I have done it! I lost 10 pounds!! I never thought I would here myself say that. .I was getting to the point not to long ago that I was just always going to be fat and I needed to learn how to be comfortable in my own skin. BUT I DID IT!!! I lose 5 more pounds and my wedding ring is just going to be falling off my finger, I'm gonna have to go get a chain for it until I am done with all this weight loss bizz and then get it re sized. .poor thing has been re sized so many times it's almost non existent. .lol. .kidding. ..I haven't been on a whole lot lately cause I have just had sick kid after sick kid to take care of then yesterday I got a migraine and got really sick because of it. that was the first time in my life I have ever gotten sick form that. .I thought I was going to die. .lol

I use to feel that way too but once you start eating as healthy as you can and ONCE in a while have something like that and not over due it you will be fine! I use to lie to myself and tried cutting out all the "bad" stuff and I got so discouraged I went right back full force and gained even more weight. I think we are all heavy due to our own individual reasons. .emotions, health problems. .you name it but it all boils down to one thing. .eat healthy and exercise!

to be quit honest the only thing I have done to lose 10 pounds was eat healthier. .when I want a cookie I eat one or two and that is it. I listen to my body now and the funny thing is if I eat something that is not healthy I'll know it soon enough because my body rejects it and I end up getting nauseous from it.

I know I have been going back and forth with what to eat and this and that but I think I finally figured it out, I can't eat breakfast! period I have tried and tried and just get sick but I don't get sick from drinking coffee. .I thought that was weird so I didn't drink coffee first thing and waited to get hungry and ate and yet again I got sick so the next day I did the same thing but instead made a juice form my file and didn't get sick. I made the orange strawberry pineapple one but I didn't have strawberries this time so I used raspberries. .not as good as strawberries but it did the job! IF I'm hungry for lunch I eat a salad or a sandwich on whole wheat, I used to eat just regular wheat. .but I get fuller faster with the whole wheat. For dinner I haven't really changed that a lot I do try to make them healthier but I'm not the best cook so I do what I do and just eat less and drink more water. I'm done with the guessing game now I just have to keep it up and slowly and gradually learn how to cook better foods. The only exercise I have done was one time on the stair master and the little bit I do when I am doing housework I just try to run and use my arms more and silly things like that. I hope that the weight will keep coming off and I don't go back. .I think that 10 pounds in 2 months is slow and steady and supposed to be good. .it's not happening as fast as I would like it to but in the long run I think I will be happy. I can't wait till hubby comes home for his R&R. he is going to be so surprised. anyway, I don't know it all and still have a lot of work to do and things to learn, everyone is different and needs to find out what works for them. I am so happy I found this place. .damn, I always talk way to much. .lol

yeah. .thanks for stoppin in! I agree, there is always a healthy alternative to a crap food. .even cookies. .my favorite thing to eat is wheat thins, the tomato and basil ones. hmmm hmmm hmm serving size is like 15 crackers and it is soooo hard to just eat 15. .lol. .my husband hates them cause the stink though. .but that is what I eat instead of chips. ;)

Cograts for 10 pounds lost that's awsome.I'm realy glad for u if u can stand to fight ure hungrines. I'm forced to eat or to quit. I t was easier with cigaretes than with food , I quit smoking easely, but it was easy, I dont need to smoke, but with nyami food is dificult, cause I must eat. I hope ure not ofended with ma posta about pizza from the few days ago.:angelsad2:
