A new lease on life - Xenon's Diary :)

Hi Xenon,

Just dropping in to say hi :seeya: I am really glad your Mum is moving in to help out. My bestie moved in with her Mum after she had her baby, and it is so much easier for her. If your Hubby is working a lot of overtime it must be hard for you. How old is your kiddie?

I am a mature student as well, and I have two kids. I have relaxed over the festive period, but things are going to get mad from tomorrow, when I need to start working SERIOUSLY hard again. I also know how you feel about not making A overall. I got a B overall last year, and I wasn't a happy bunny, even though my entry year is not counting towards my final mark. I still have the hump about it, in fact. When you work hard, you want a GODDAMN A to reflect your efforts :).

What health problems have you got? It must be awful, but your a lot better now, so now its time to start loving your body, your amazing body that has pulled itself through a terrible time, and get into the best health that you can be in.

Much love x

Good luck, Xenon.
Happy new year!
Thank you so much MrXian :) Happy new year to you too!!

Hi overtherainbow :) my son is three now, he just turned two when I made that last post! My mom has already moved in and things have been a lot better, but she and I are prone to personality conflicts so it has not been an easy road all of the time. I ended up making a B in that class....differential equations. I am going to update a little more after this post. The health problem I had was contracting a bad infection in the hospital when giving birth to my son. I am much better now yes, but need to lose weight still...and quite a lot of weight.

It is so nice to meet someone who is so driven and going back to school whilst raising children. Most people I encounter do not understand my excessive need to do homework and make good marks. School starts for me again next week and I totally understand what you mean about working hard. What are you majoring in? How many years do you have left? I will definitely be visiting your diary :) All the best this semester!

OK so major update!

I have been gone for over a year now and a lot has happened since I last posted. I graduated college and am now in my third year at university:hurray:. Because I have two declared majors, I will probably be in school for another two and a half years.

Last year I joined Curves which is a gym for women and I lost five pounds. Then I went through an extremely rough financial time and could not afford to go. I am now planning to walk in conjunction with eating more fruits and veggies. Last year I fluctuated between the 260's and 270's staying mostly in the 270's. I currently weight 282.4 lbs (two minutes ago). I am short and small framed, so my ideal weight is 53kg or 116lbs. The most important thing for me right now is to first get out of the "Extremely Obese" range, which means I need to get to 220lbs. I am setting this as my first short term goal, however, I do not want to focus so much on numbers as I would like to focus on eating correctly and getting appropriate exercise.

I am so sleepy right now! I slept for approx 3 hours last night so I think I will cut this post short and get some rest.

:cheers2: Cheers everyone! Here's to keeping our resolutions :)

Xe!!! How crazy, I was thinking about you the other day and now you're back again. Really missed you around here!!

I used to work at Curves when I was 18! What a shame you couldn't continue. There's plenty you can do from home though and you have the right idea getting in some walking. Congrats on graduating college!! I'm trying to remember what you were studying, I remember you doing scary advanced math of some kind (haha am I close?) I'm starting uni in the second half of this year, can't wait!

Luz! I was actually thinking about you and Wayne and also about Veronique....not sure if she is still around. How are you? I have to try to find your diary. The forum has changed so much. Yes you are right about what I am studying :D I have to learn a lot of advanced math...tensor, numerical, and vector analysis amongst other things, of which tensor analysis is the most hard. I am studying astrophysics and chemistry. I am actually so very excited because I have my first astrophysics class this coming semester. I remember you are a good cook and you also wanted to be a personal trainer. What are you going to be studying at uni? I am so interested to know!

Veronique has been on and off the last few months, she is around every now and again! Argh your study sounds MENTAL!

I'm a fitness instructor but I don't do it as a job, I'm going to uni to get my bachelors in health science doing naturopathy! That starts the second semester of this year. We are moving interstate then so that'll be exciting! My diary is here: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/threads/54857-Put-DOWN-the-Nutella!/page39 I also have a food/recipe blog now!

That is so amazing Luz! Congrats on your blog, I will check it out--all of your things sound so scrumptious and healthy. I have never heard of naturopathy before, what is it? I know I can just google it lol but I prefer to ask. My studies are oh so mental...especially this past semester when we started to cover some quantum physics and some of Einstein's stuff--totally different from classical physics. The beautiful thing about physics tho is that it take some struggle to grasp new ideas but as you learn more and work through the problems, you begin to see amazing connections and even complex math begins to be manipulative patterns of the most simple algebra and even basic arithmetic. In other words it becomes so EASY! I remember when I started my studies I was wondering if my brain could fit all of this stuff, but once you have a good foundation and get into it, it becomes like a natural thought process and fits readily into your everyday thoughts. I now see why one physicist was telling me physics can be taught to a 10 year old. The important thing is just to do a lot of exercises. I will check out your diary also...thanks for the link!

Stepped on the scale today to see how things are panning out. 279.2, which means I lost 2.2 pounds. Very happy to see this as I had a couple of slip ups this week.

:party:going in the right direction.

Naturopathy is the natural treatment of illness and disease with nutritional therapy and herbal medicine. I have to do all the nutrition units plus western herbal medicine and nutritional medicine, also the electives are a little wider in range compared to just doing nutrition... I am going to do remedial massage (if I stay an extra 6 months after I get my degree I can get my diploma in remedial massage as well!) So it's an extra year as compared to doing a health science degree in nutrition, but way more interesting in my opinion! It also includes things like aromatherapy, homeopathy, iridology, reflexology... the list goes on. Pretty much everything I find interesting!!! I'm so excited! I have no idea how I'll go doing chemistry and bio-chem, it's been YEARS since I've done anything involving science and I was never really that great at it. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!

Congrats on the loss too!!!

Sounds totally interesting Luz! I have to take biochem too, I have to check my course schedule to see when. I think next spring. If you ever need help with your general chem do not hesitate to pm me. Or any maths.

got a ticker...I thought my original weight was 281.4 but when I checked my post again I see it is 282.4...so I lost 3.2 lbs already lolzz

Hey Xenon! Good to see you back in here!!! Gosh - I havent been on here for almost 2 years!
Now i m back to my HW - almost same as you - 273.

Good luck with you weight loss!!! see you around!!

Xe- I will totally take you up on that, I'm not crash hot at anything in that general area!! It feels like forever ago that school ended and I know I so wasn't into it back then lol... Eh, heard the first semester is rough too because I have to do 5 units at once including chem and biology (I'm actually ok at bio though! Have done human bio a few times since school, with my beauty diploma and my fitness cert).

Yay for the surprise weight loss lol. So glad you're back, it's awesome! Like old days (as in 2 years ago, hahahaha!!!)
