A New Experience

Oh and as far as food goes I was so stressed Monday and Tuesday till the meeting I hardly ate anything. But when I got home I ate like 10 cookies, and again yesterday. The rest of my eating wasn't too bad but this was anxiety eating...and the stuff didn't even taste good. I don't buy cookies for this reason but my DH's family sent a huge thing of them home from christmas. I think it'll all even out though. Just gotta get back on track and find some better coping mechanisms. I'll weigh in tomorrow and see how it goes.

I hope your New Year is stressless....gawd..that was awful.

Keep your chin up and watch your back. Don't let her get the best of you.

Take care

Hi Lisa, I just read all of your diary and wanted to say that I think you are doing really well. You are taking real steps to take control of your life and using excellent strategies to deal with stress. I'm really impressed with your research & the time you are taking to freeze meals so that you are not tempted to eat rubbish food.
Don't let this woman upset your plans or your life. No-one should do that. You don't deserve it. I would suggest having a talk with her alone & try to find out what her problem is & whether you can do anything to help resolve it. More than likely she has other problems & is taking them out on you & that is just not fair. If you can, be calm, strong & confident with her but without aggression. Tell her that you value your job & want to resolve the issue so that you are able to work together amicably. If you appear calm & in control then she may back off. I think it's worth a try but it's just my idea. I hate confrontation & aggression but that is how I have tackled it in the past & even if it does not alter their behaviour it makes you feel much stronger & you know that you have given it your best shot. That's all any of us can do. Sending you some strength & encouragement, xo Cate.
PS 2011 is going to be the year we all shine!! Fit & healthy- here we come!

Hey hun, I'm so sorry to hear that your crappy coworker is at it again :( *hugs* I really hope she leaves you alone soon, or just leaves...

love your recipes

Hi Lisa, I've been reading through your diary. Gotta run now but its been nice getting acquainted with you. I also freeze meals, it helps with portion control. I think you're doing great.

Hey Cate, ty for taking the time to post. I did try to talk to her, very nicely in fact and thats what resulted in the blow up and ultimately both our butts being called into the office. But in most cases I think you're advice is spot on.

Happy New Year Lisa. My wishes for you for the new year other than the normal things are that you lose loads of weight and that your co-worker gets transferred :)

The last few days have been really stressful. I had to work at a different house than my normal one (direct care work) and there was alot of drama going on. I think I managed steer clear of it all but it wasn't comfortable. Today will be my first day back with my nasty co-worker at my regular house so not looking forward to that either.

This is normally the kind of stress life throws at me that knocks me completely off...I haven't had time to go to the store so there's no fresh salad stuff or produce. There's no more cookies at my house either though thanks to my husband finishing them off, lol. So on the upside my plan is working out perfectly because I had all my meals done ahead and jars of dole fruit and other stuff on hand to just grab and go. If I hadn't, I know this would have been fast food all week long and ordering in. So my budget got saved as well.

Did a weigh in today and I've hit the 15lbs lost mark, on the nose in fact :) For about a month's time that's really good I think. It'd be nice if I could maintain that average each month. Can't wait till I hit the 20lb mark!

That's great news. I'm so glad for you that it is working as you have put so much work into getting it right this time :)

That's awesome for a month. Congrats! You're obviously doing really well...keep it up, and I'm sure you'll hit the 20lb mark in no time. :)

One of the women on my team has PCOS and she asked to follow my diet and exercise programme to try and help her manage her weight (she was about 98kg). She lost 6kg (about 13 or so pounds) in 5 weeks - she was thrilled and her doctors were stunned.

She was starting to believe it was impossible but now she believes it is possible because she proved it to herself in just 5 weeks just as you have!

So, well done you!

Thanks Spinner :) Yea the PCOS and combined insulin resistance has made weight loss such a hardship in the past. If I'd been diagnosed in my 20s instead of 30s I doubt I'd ever have gotten this big. And back then it was alot easier to motivate myself but I'm hoping once I get my energy back that'll keep the ball rolling. Can't live in the past so I'm just grateful I'm getting it together now. Thanks so much for the support. I looked to see if you had a journal I could swing by but there wasn't one. You are most welcome here though any time.
