I also agree with Sarah and birthday calories don't count so don't even try! Going for a run first thing would be a great way to start off a new year - hopefully your head won't be hurting too much for that to happen! Some advil and water will do the trick.
Are you getting excited or just sad that you are leaving so soon? Where are you going to next and who are you living with? Will you be with your hunnie?

I seriously took your advise. Birthday weekend was crazy and then I started travelling so I kinda fell off the wagon until today. But I am back now. Thank you for your wishes.

I really took Sarah's advise and went all out. Hey, my last birthday when I say I am in my 20s so I decided to go all out. Now feeling the effects, and it is really not that great.

I am excited and sad to be leaving the place. I am sad to be leaving the people and my work, but also very much looking forward to being closer to home. Hunnie is still going to be travelling like mad and stuff, but we'll have more time together. He'll come to me for some R&R hahaha....I'm moving to NY . I have always loved the city, and I am looking really forward.

That one event turned into another three evenings. Not even in my 21st birthday did I party like I did this time. Now feeling the effects. But I am now back and determined to get back on track. Thank you for your wishes Jjjay.

Thank you Flumes. I had too many cakes and waaaay too many drinks.

So my birthday weekend is over, and now I'm back to kick some butt. I partied each night (incl Sunday), had too many bottles of wine and too many pieces of cake. I had a lovely lovely time. I got to spend time with friends (and hunnie who surprised me- he was supposed to come later. and is travelling with me right now) and people I deeply care for. I am not going to look back and regret about what I had to eat/drink. Nope that's not gonna happen. Instead, Im gonna think about what a wonderful time I had and will look forward to running and eating right this week.

My trip to the rural areas was cancelled, instead I had to fill in for my boss who had death in the family and had to leave for Europe. My boss had to attend this international conference and instead of him, it was decided I would be travelling. I was really looking forward to my own trip but this one aint bad either. The weather here is wonderful, and I am getting to do what I love the most. The city I'm at right now (for the conference) is one of the most beautiful and I am meeting wonderful people. Hunnie is with me, and I am just happy happy happy.

I am ready to go for a run in an hour or so. I hope I can keep it up for another week till conference is over. Will check your journals later tonight.

I'm so jealous of you moving to NY - that is going to be such a great place to get some motivation to drop some pounds!
What a nice birthday surprise your hunnie gave you showing up - that must have made the weekend!! I bet you got to burn some calories too that you weren't planning on! I bet because your so busy with work and travelling those extra calories you consumed during the weekend have already lost themselves! Good to hear you are doing good and your positivity about jumping right back in is inspiring! Keep it up - I see good things ahead for you this year!!
 
Hey Juni! Sounds like a great birthday!! On my 29 I ate a subway sandwich alone lol!!! Hubby was at work! You are so right not to regret it, just get back to your routine and you will keep loosing! I want to visit NY so bad!!! hubby and I keep saying we will do it but we never get around to it I want to go in the falls cause I hear that is the best time! It must be fun to have your hunny with you at the conference!

Thanks Lisa. I hope you're right. I'll know tomorrow when I jump on scale. If I've gained, I'm not gonna cry over it. I'll just work harder to lose it all. Travelling is tricky-- i tend to not really have a sense of what i am eating when I am travelling (especially a stressful trip like this one where i constantly have to be on top of things). Also, when I am not eating what I have not prepared, it tend to lose sight of things. Usually you eat certain foods, prepared in a certain way- i have three different ways i cook zucchini (they are all simple). but i had zucchini today and i don't really know how it was cooked (it was yummy, but i'm unable to estimate how many calories it contained, what was added- what oil it was cooked with etc. i guess i can't really go wrong with zucchini but you get my drift?

It has been fantastic to have hunnie with me. Oh and I'm burning calories alright with him around...:)

Thanks sarah. I am trying to control some of the damage I did. If I have a good week this week, I think I should be able to get back. Although, it only takes one good day to get back on the groove, doesn't it?

So yesterday, I couldn't go for a run like I planned. I had seen a small park, which I thought would be perfect for runs (it is not as hot at Delhi here), but the small park was sooooo crowded, i could barely walk, much less run. So walked for about 30 mins and came back grumpy, yet really really tired.

Today, however, i woke up really early 5AM (yes yes yes! so proud of myself) and ran for 50 mins and it was great. I ran on the road, which I was a little concerned about, but it was alright. I was doing a lot of inclines and was feeling really good. I have a feeling my thighs and butt will be very sore from all the inclines i ran. Exciting!! :)

Food has been good too. I am trying to the healthiest choices.

TUESDAY:

B: Cooked mung beans
S: string beans and two cups of tea with creme
L: 1/2 cup Tabbouleh with spinach and 1/2 cup of split pea soup
S: small chicken bbq sandwich, another cup of tea with creme
D: a cup of cherries and lots of cucumber

I have been avoiding the confrence tea- cakes, cookies was just having tea when i realize they use a really heavy creme. So on Wednesday, I decided to be more careful.

WEDNESDAY

B: small pancake
S: cucumbers, string beans and pickled radish (i sneaked into the kitchen and got these while the others hovered around cookies and coffee in the lobby) :)
L: 1/2 cup rice with chicken
S: zucchini with rice-cakes, plain yogurt
D: 1 slice of cheese pizza, two slices of pesto pizza. (not the best choice, but i was craving some carbs).
Skipped dessert- there was yummy-looking molten chocolate cake. I had a piece of dark chocolate with hunnie in bed.

Woke up at 5am and ran (i think i feel much better running in the mornings)

Didn't have any tea. Got more water in than Tueday- a gallon.

Hope everyone is doing wonderfully as well.
 
Good choices with your food log and awesome run this morning!! 50 min is great! I imagine it would be hard to guess calorie amounts while travelling because when you look up restaurants nutritional info it's always more than you thought it would be - or more than it tastes it would be! I'm sure you'll be ok though because you sound really busy! It really does only take one good day to turn the week around but it doesn't sound like you need it because honestly you are doing great! Cake in bed with hunnie sounds amazing and I bet the calories were burned shortly after, lol!! I want to do that right now!! Keep it up Juni - I don't think you will have bad news for weigh-in Friday - just make sure to keep up the water so you aren't retaining any from travelling. Chat later!
 
Great job on choosing good foods!!!! Expecially since you are traveling and waking so early for a run, I have yiet to try to wake up earlier to exercise myself I keep saying ok I will do it but don't my bed is way too comfy!
 
Down to 140.8- not a lot of lbs lost but i'll take loss over gain any day. :)

That's so great Juni!! A loss after a weekend of birthday treats is amazing! You really must have been moving lots to burn those calories - great job!! Safe travels and we'll chat when you get back!! Have a very healthy weekend!
