A little advice please

Hello everyone,
Id like to ask some advice for my exercise routine. I have been weight training and exercising for 8 months now. Im 23yo, 165cm (5ft5). When I started exercising, I weighed 60kg with hip measurement of 96cm and body fat app. 21%. I am a classic pear shape, very lean on my to half and fat and cellulite on my thighs and bum. My goal was to gain muscle, decrease BF and loose all my cellulite. Currently I weigh 55kg, BF 18% and measurements bust 81cm, waist 62cm and hips 90cm. I feel stronger all over, and I am happy with my results:) .
My only concern is I still have fat deposits on bum and thighs and cellulite! Whilst it is heaps better than 8 months ago, for all the work I put in, (I weight train 2x week, pilaties 2xweek- and thats a hard workout, dispite what many of you think about pilaties, my abs are rock hard! yoga 1xweek and cardio every few days) I would have liked better results on my bottom half.

At one stage a few months ago, I was down to 53.5kg, BF 16% hips 88cm. I was happy with my bottom half FINALLY but my top half I looked too skinny - breasts nearly non existant, ribs and my collarbone showing and all my friends just kept saying I was too skinny. I put 2kg back on, but ofcouse, back came the fat to my bum and thighs. Any advice as to how I can further tone this area without loosing more bodyfat... By the way, my diet is exellent, loads of fruit n vege, lean protein, nuts, grains, water, all the good stuff - and only some of the bad!
Tough one I know... Any imput would be great..

First realize that each individual tends to store fat in specific places. A few fortunate individuals store fat very evenly over their entire bodies, but most of us store it predominately in one section of the body (many men in the midsection and many women in the butt and thighs). So, the unfortunate fact is, to reduce fat in your most stored area you have to get rid of all the other fat everywhere else first.

You don't say what you do for strength training, but you have to find what works best for you. Some individuals respond best to very heavy, low rep weight training, some to higher rep, lighter weight training, some to something in the middle, and some to a combination on a rotating basis. You just have to try them all to see what works best for you, in terms of reshaping your body.

8 months is not a lot of time to reshape your body. It may take many years, and lots of experimentation, but you are young and have plenty of time. The most important thing is to be consistant, both exercising regularly and eating correctly.

It is true that people deposit fat in certain locations and it is impossible to focus on losing the fat in just that section of your body. What strength training exercises are you doing?? Some good ones for the butt and upper legs are lunges (with hip extension), hyperextensions, leg extensions, leg curls, hip abduction/adduction exercises (can be done on a machine, without weights, or with a weight band), walking up hill will work the butt muscles (gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, gluteus minimus).

There are many exercises done in pilates and yoga that are supposed to help make the legs lean. I would recommend looking into a pilates tape or look up some exercises on the internet.

A lot of the way a person looks is due to their genetics. You might not be able to look the way you want to because of your genetics. All you can do is perform strength training for your major muscle groups 2-3 times a week and perform cardio on most days of the week for 30 mins.

Good luck to you!

Cellulite is fat so the only way for you to lose it is to go back to 16% bf. If you're worried that your top half looks too skinny you can concentrate on buliding muscle on your top half to give you a more balanced shape.
