a Hillbilly diary

and the best park in the city -is Fort Tryon Park in upper manhattan - take the A Train to 190th street, and it's a few blocks north into the park...

the park overlooks the hudson river, the george washington bridge, and the palisades in new jersey and the views are gorgeous... it's also home to the cloisters museum... a wonderful museum devoted to medievil tapestries and art... it's also got a really nice lavender garden (taht might be blooming in late march... )

Well I had a strange wake up call yesterday. I was just sitting around and watching TV and got this crazy pressure in my chest. It wasn't a pain but more like someone was standing on my chest making it super hard to breathe. Went to the emergency room and they hooked me up to the whatchamacallit monitor that does your heart rate, blood pressure and sp02 level. I expected them to tell me to go back out into the lobby after the triage assessment but no..... I get into a chair and straight back into the little curtain exam room. I don't understand the oxygen saturation level other than they told me normal is 90ish-95ish. Mine was 25 and felt like hell. So they put the oxygen mask on me and clean air stinks by the way. Anyway long story short after a few nitro pills, a nitro patch and a whole bunch more fresh air I was in the hospital for the night.

The cardiologist tells me to get at least 50 pounds off and he don't care how I do it. He said go on a liquid diet or just cabbage or just what ever it takes to get it off quick.

Well anyway that was my day////////

How was yours?

oh man scarey. Time to do what he says then. Merry Fcken Xmas huh?

This is your wake up call, you should thank god you only had a warning instead of the real deal and are giving your family the xmas present of funerals.

well today has been going well even though not much to eat. Still feel kinda off. Anyhow I'm ready for Xmas more or less. Gonna hit wally world at about 3 am for some last minute shopping. I really don't need anything but I'm sure something will catch my eye.

G'nite all.......

I thought Wally World was just a made up place visited by the Griswalds in the movie Vacation. Is it a real place?

Mind if I ask what your plan is for getting the 50 lbs off? Wishing you the best in making it work!

yea the wally world; I think city folks call it wallmart lol. Cardiologist gave me a diet that they give to people about a week before open heart surgery. It's basically stewed cabbage and tomotoes.........:puke: I guess the idea is that it takes more to digest than you take in. anyway after that i'll be back on my normal eating good healthy foods. Anyway it's not a diet for people just wanting to shed pounds; He is thinking I have some sort of blockage and they are thinking they are going to have to put in a balloon or some type of stent.

Oppy Olidays Mates.........

Angiplasty is pretty common these days... and will rotorooter your blockages as good as new... but still...

but still take care of yourself going forward...

you want to be able to come to new york and have yourself a good time.

well today was another pretty good day. I went to the doctor and did a stress test and that didn't show anything so Friday morning they are going to run a scope of some sort into my groin and if they find a blockage they will do an angioplasty. If that doesn't show anything I guess they will start looking elsewhere for the cause of all the chest pains and such.

I hope everyone had a good holiday..........

Well off to the hospital for the whatyamacallit. Mental thought when did running hoses and tubes in a main artery become no big deal? :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:

""""BREATHE""""You'll do fine and hopefully nothing but good news for you!
I get those same feelings when the thought of a baby head coming out
of you know whwre and big needles in the spine and all that, that goes with
all that lol I HATE NEEDLES,TUBES and I litterally make my self sick when I know it's going to happend.Let us know how it goes, have a wonderful pain free day,***HUGGGS***TAMMY

I hope everything goes well for you.

I had the same procedure in October of 2004 plus two stents. It really wasn't all that bad. I had no pain which is always a bonus.

A big hug to you.

eeek scarey

so whats this diet the doctors gave you anyway? is it like one of those sacred heart ones? are you gonna do it?

Hello everyone....... well back from the hospital and they did the dye and all and no blockages and I have the heart of an 18 year old kid(thats carrying way to much weight). The doctor says what I'm having are anxiety attacks????????????? I can deal with that much better than waiting for my heart to stop.

The diet the doctor gave me is an improvised cabbage diet. This one is basically one he gives to his heart patients before open heart surgery. It pulls a bunch of weight off of you really quick but you have to be careful not to put it right back on. It's just boiled/stewed tomatoes and cabbage. I guess it's an almost liquid diet with fiber. you stay on it about a week then back to normal healthy foods. I wouldn't even be considering it except I need to get at least 50 pounds off fast and then when I get back down to 350 I can start the normal eating good food routine.
