Well the pee party went fine as always... The only problem is my blood pressure spiked through the roof and Texas dot says it can't be above 140. They told me to come back in the morning since It was so early my blood pressure medicine probably didn't have time to work. They gave me the lecture of take it easy, no salt,no pork,no life. So I have been in bed all day and haven't even had anything to eat unless a bunch of water counts lol.
I'm gonna up my blood pressure medicine just to get me through the blood pressure test and hope that does the trick.

So no gym tonight just gonna sit back relax and take it pretty easy.........

Hey all well everything going ok. I have just been tired all day. It's a bad thing when a job depends on some damn blood pressure numbers. If it's a decent company they will wait a week until the new meds kick in. I haven't eaten much today. I have had two apples and a hand full of grapes. I know it's not much but I guess I'm just worried about my blood pressure. I don't want to take the chance of eating something loaded with salt. If my pressure still doesn't make it in the morning I'll go to the doctor and see if she can do some tweaking with my meds. I just hope me going to the gym and pushing myself so hard hasn't raised my blood pressure for some odd reason....

on a good note my pants are about to fall off lol. my weight still hasn't changed much but I think the weights are messing with my loss a little bit. I feel better since I have been putting weights in my workout. Muscles are tighter and my back feels great for the first time in two years........

nite all......

High blood pressure and exercise: Why activity is key
High blood pressure and exercise are closely related. Learn how small changes in your daily routine can make a big difference.

The risk of high blood pressure (hypertension) increases with age. And like it or not, you get older every day. But you don't need to sit back and wait for high blood pressure to strike. Get moving! Regular exercise can help prevent high blood pressure, which reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. And if your blood pressure is already high, exercise can help you control it.

How Exercise Helps

How are high blood pressure and exercise connected? Regular physical activity makes your heart stronger. A stronger heart can pump more blood with less effort. And the less your heart has to work, the less force, or pressure, that's exerted on your arteries.

Becoming more active can lower your blood pressure by an average of 10 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). That's the same effect as some blood pressure medications. For some people, it's enough to reduce the need for blood pressure medication.

If your blood pressure is at a desirable level — less than 120/80 mm Hg — exercise can keep it from rising as you age. And there's more. Regular exercise also helps you maintain a healthy weight, another important way to control blood pressure.

The caveat? You need to keep it up. It takes about one to three months for regular exercise to have a stabilizing effect on blood pressure. The benefits last only as long as you continue to exercise.

What counts?

Flexibility and strengthening exercises are an important part of an overall fitness plan, but it takes aerobic activity to control high blood pressure. And you don't need to spend hours in the gym every day to benefit. Simply adding moderate physical activities to your daily routine will help.

Any physical activity that increases your heart and breathing rates is considered aerobic. Mowing the lawn, raking leaves or scrubbing the floor counts — as long as it takes effort. Other common forms of aerobic activity include climbing stairs, walking, jogging, bicycling and swimming.

Aim for at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity most days of the week. If you can't set aside that much time at once, remember that shorter bursts of activity count, too.

ANYWAY, enough copying from sites...I just gave you that to make sure you are aware...the exercise is not hurting you bro, so don't worry there. If anything you can explain to these people that you are taking a VERY serious interest in lowering your blood pressure via exercise.

Salt is the worst thing to give up....seriously.

YOU try cooking w/out salt...tell me how THAT tastes...

Some days it seems that everything that you enjoy is horrible for you, doesn't it? Time to train the palate I guess. In the mean time, rest easy...you are trying your damnedest to beat it!

My blood pressure is fine so I don't worry too much about salt, but when I tried to monitor it, it was impossible. My step-dad has brought his down nicely with a combination of dietary changes and medication, but its pretty strange. He's the one person in the family that isn't obese or even overweight and he's the only one with high bp. Genetics have a lot to do with it. My mom is overweight and hers sometimes doesn't crack 100.

Howdy Hilly,
I am sure you'll be fine, for one you are taking care of yourself and getting fit and healthy thats a big help to your blood preasure, now to
figure out how to cope with stress? Salt is in everything I thought my lean cuisines were nice and healthy and they have 800-1,000 grams of sodium BUT it beats pizza and burgers for now.Like "B" said if isn't FRESH it has salt,blah...puts a damper in lots of foods.Hope you have a nice day "tight muscles"whistles way to go with the weights,Tammy

Hello everyone. I'm going to the doctor Monday after another interview. This is for a tech job and it's a temp to perm type thing. They don't care about blood pressure just a drug test and that ain't no big deal. I took and extra blood pressure pill and now it's kinda on the low side so gonna see what the doc can come up with. It's strange how your blood pressure going up and down can really make you feel bad.

Chef I didn't really think the exercise would make it go up but it was the only thing I have really changed. I think it was a spike and my medicine wasn't quite enough to keep up with it.

Well on a brighter side I lost another two pounds. I really haven't had any huge losses but I had to notch my belt again. With working out and my calories it looks like I'm a two calorie a week plan lol.

First off, I hope you start feeling, hun. My father has HBP and it's always fluctuating and it brings him down. Bah... I'm sure things will level out and you'll be back to your normal, energetic self. :D Also, congrats with the 2 lb loss! A loss is a loss, so don't frett.. accumulatively, your loss is huge. Have a good night, HB.

Yea it can really knock your %$#@ in the dirt lol....... Thanks for all the support :hug2:

food for today......

breakfast: 2 pieces of toast with a little butter, 3 eggs with cheese and some onion.

Dinner: went to golden corral; small piece of steak, chicken breast off of a rotisserie chicken, scoop of macaroni and cheese and one roll with butter.

Dessert: 1/2 slice of blueberry pie and one chocolate chocolate chip cookie. Those were off of the reduced calorie section. the pie was 190 and the cookie was 90.

Not the best foods but I was just careful what I ate. I'm just not hungry so I haven't been my creative self lol.

Yesterday's food was three granny smith apples and a bunch of grapes. If I'm not hungry I'm very very sick lol..............

Tomorrow should be a better day even if I make myself eat when I'm not that hungry. Since I'm only losing 2 pounds a week I may up my calories about 500 and it will either increase my weight loss or It won't do anything and I just have more food in a day.......
