a Hillbilly diary

Good afternoon HB! Being active is kind of hard sometimes. I have a hard time of it if I'm not off to the gym regularly. Which I haven't been lately, because of moving!!

Hi there HB. Dropping in to thank you for stopping by and leaving a message on my journal. Yah... NY's ummm different. Oh well.. I'll figure something out.

Sheesh.. I was just in Amba's diary leaving her a message and she wrote something about Turkey Chilli and now you're here with your strawberry and banana smoothie. MmMmmm... decisions.. delicious decisions.... I'm off to make me a snack. haha Once again.. thanks and good job with keeping with your diet and workouts.

I have to get to the store to see what kind of frozen fruit they have. I'm thinking pineapple, mango, and maybe strawberry with no sugar..... bleckkkkkkk......

Hey Mechelle I have used it and it's pretty good, I just don't happen to have any on hand lol. I found a frozen smoothie mix with strawberries, pineapple, mango. I just put that in the blender with some orange juice and it was pretty good but it had a slight bitter taste. The frozen fruit just wasn't very sweet. It held me over till righ about now; thinking it time for some food lol.

Hey there. My typical smoothie is plain yogurt, frozen berries, a bit of lemon, a teaspoon of honey and ice cubes. Its OK, but not spectacular.

It's hard to make a smoothie really great without a pound of sugar lol. All we can do is make a little something that kind of kills the sweet tooth for a bit.

Hey there ,Looks like another gr8 day for ya!Even with those yummmy M&M'S:drooling: ......I had pen station BUT I gave 1/2 my sandwhich to my daughter and 1/2 the fries for my boys and other daughter so Not horrible.
Just curios how old is your lil hyper guy?It is good to know your not alone when a child has behavior problem's,besides my aunt who's son is on strat?????not sure on the name but he had problems to and they put him on ridilin at 1st the hereacted BAD on that a complete ZOMBIE and not a care in the worls so they switched it he is more calm but in my opinon nopt his self and thats why I really dread a doc visit.
Like I said he starts school AUG 15th 1st grade so I may wait and see how his weeks go?
I am proud of you hitting that monster,I mean elliptical lol!Have a good night sleep,Tammy:)

Just curios how old is your lil hyper guy?

He's six.... we tried to get him into pre k and that was a no go... then kindergarten and the wanted to put him into special ed. We opted for home schooling and thats not working out too well. He's smart as a whip but he cant keep his concentration on one thing. I don't really think it's adhd because he can sit at a video game all day if you let him. I think he is just supper hyper. We talked to our doctor and she said well hes a boy..... Thats all fine and good but when it interferes with getting him into a school without him having to be into special ed. I wouldn't mind him being in special ed if he had a mental problem but just to be hyper I don't know.

My grandfather told me that the best part of having kids was makin em and I laughed. Upon reflection I should have asked how to handle things after that lol.

edit to menu: after the gym I was starved and I made me a turkey breast sandwich which would have been an additional 450 calories so it still puts me under 2500 for the day.

Gym was pretty good; I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and thats along way from the 4 minutes when I first started a cardio regime.I kept my heart rate going at 150 for that length of time and it felt pretty good. weighing 376 for 20 minutes I burned about 342 calories so not bad. Then I started working out on weights and ended up for a total time of about an hour so it was a good work out.

Great work on the elliptical Randy. Its so hard to find appropriate help for hyper children that doesn't involve over-medicating them or ignoring the problem and hoping it just goes away. It sounds like you're a very caring father who is trying not to do either.

woohoo on the elliptical :):):) As far as sititng in front of the tv and video games - my stepson is adhd and he can sit fine in front of a tv adn video game for days on end if ya let him...when I woudl turn off the tv and not allow games he woudlnt know what to do with himself...

For your doc to say he is just a boy is kinda dumb lol - Ive got my ece and one of the things they touch on briefly in basic is special needs and forms of hyper activity and learning problems - have you ever seen a check list for adhd - it is so proud my kids and even I coudl be labelled based off of it - it is so stupid...

Anyway if you feel in your gut he isnt adhd then go witht hat feelign you are the parent:)Also though try to be reasonable and open b/c if he does have problems he can only excelle and benefit from help if it is needed...

I struggle with my youngest and trying to figure out if she is just a tot and bieng a tot of she is displaying jeans from her father and bro who are both adhd...Im just allowing myself to be aware of it and monitor it...

Ohhhh I feel like a truck hit me lol...... my hurts hurt...... Think I'll switch back to just cardio, weights are evil. on bicepts and tricept I worked with about 50 pounds with alot of reps. On my legs every thing was too light so I guess they are used to carrying all this weight for so long. I worked out with 500 pounds on the calf raises and I got on the leg press with free weights that was already staged full and I can just imagine what that weighed lol. My legs or thighs don't hurt much but my back is killing me around the surgery site. I think it's the first time they have gotten a really good stretch.

On the ADHD thing it just worries me. The first thing doctors hollar is ADHD and then they tranquelize(sorry cant find a decent spell check that works with vista) your kid. If he needs it I will but at the moment I think he's just super hyper. I talked to the new principle at the elementry school and she is going to enrol him and the district will have him tested and we will go from there.

Talk to yall soon; I hear a tub of epsom salt and alcholol(?sp) calling me........

Wow Hilly it sounds like you took a beating at the gym!! I like how you
slipped in epsom salt and alcholol haha..I hope you feel better.Funny
you mention video games because my son CAN do that to but NOT say a
board game or card game at the table.I am going to see how school goes and if I get a DOC that tells me it's a boy thing or phase I may go off lol because I know plenty of boys his age that DOESN'T hurt kids and bounce around like he does and his so called phase has started back around 2ish.
Well hope you enjoy your day Tammy

well today has been a good day other than I'm only up to about 1100 calories. I think Ill put some peanut butter and a banana and some 2% milk in the magic bullet and have some sort of throw together milk shake thingie lol...
