a Hillbilly diary

Well I didn't lose any weight this week. That blowout I had with a friend came back to bite me in the butt lol. My metabolism must be still doing OK since I didn't gain any. I guess I'm going to have to get back to exercising and walking and such to get it all kick started again. a maybe more than one glass of water a day would help too. I haven't been drinking anything else since I don't eat much salt anymore I just don't find myself thirsty. I guess I just have to get back in the habit so to speak.

hi hillbillylee :D

congratulations on your great weightloss/lifestyle change. you know, i love drinking lots of water (as long as i'm very close to a bathroom, lol) because i am aware that each time i 'go', that's the fat leaving my body :D

if you don't drink the water the fat can't find the door out - so drink up!

well everything has been going well today other than I can't seem to get enough sleep. I guess the days of staying up for finals really got to me. The good thing is that I have three more quarters left then I'm done. The quarters are 3 months long but with three classes they fly by. Today I'm a few snacks and such behind but no biggie, I never keep on a set schedule lol.

I got to looking at my calories and I think they have been a little low. so I'm going to shoot for closer to 2000 a day to see if that helps. Its strange being you own Guinea pig lol....

Hey Lee,

looks like you are doing awesome!

Only 3 more quarters until you are finished school! That is awesome! You must be getting really excited eh!

well yea but getting a little nervous. I have an interview at the school in two weeks. Its with kellog brown and root as a civilian contractor in Iraq. Its a three year contract with a year there and three months here but its a three year contract. I wouldn't go except its more money than I have seen in awhile. So just alot to do and plan for.

Hey Lee... I hope your interview goes well. Even though it's in a couple of weeks I still thought I'd wish you luck. ;) Seems like it would be a good opportunity. You're still doing great with your weightloss!! KEEP IT UP!

I know a few people who've taken similar positions, and one of them is a great big wussy baby but has said never once have they questioned their safety... It's a helluva an opportunity and well- people say money's not important but it is... makes a lot of things easier. And there's a lot of job satisfaction that you'll get as well.. I'm sure there's a lot of beaurocratic bs to deal with - but you can get that at 1/4 the salary as well.

Well I'm not too worried about being safe and all that, Ill get as much life insurance as I can manage just in case. Being that it will be computers and electronics most of my time will be in labs or offices no matter how make shift they might be. I'm not saying I have the job but the first informal interview went well. I just need to get more weight off and get to the doctor and get some meds to where my blood pressure will get me through a physical. No one here is really worried except my oldest daughter she has seen on tv about some of the contractors that were captured. I assured her I wont ever be captured but she being 12 doesn't exactly know what I'm saying but it seemed to make her feel better. I just sit back and think what that much money will mean to my family and it kind of out weighs all the bad things. Me and my wife have been together for about 17 years though its mostly just for the kids I don't think there will be a huge issue about me being gone for that long. People in the military go on a hardship tours to places like Korea all the time so it's not like I'm the only one that has worked overseas. It may never come to pass but I'll have everything ready just in case. Anyway on the diet note I didn't eat much other than the normal breakfast and a light lunch and some sushi for dinner. The worst thing was I had a few hot dogs about 9 o'clock. It was high in calories but I wasn't really thinking on it much either way. It was one of those days you just really don't give a $^%#. Other than the white starches not too bad, the only good thing about being so big there is a pretty large cushion before I reach the point to where i eat so much Ill gain weight, For me its a little over 3500 calories. I'll burn it off today. I have to use the push mower to go over the yard. the brush hog leaves the grass/hay about 8" so now I need to walk it with the push mower to get it scalped down. The last time I did it the pedometer said it was a little over 5 miles. And that was just the front yard, It seems like a lot but with two acres thats alot of back and fourth walking rows. Anyhow thats enough babbling or rambling today, It's going to be a busy day.....

sounds like an interesting opportunity - please look into it VERY carefully before you decide. i know some people who work there (not military) and they have to live all together and basically work 7 days a week and have very little to do (other than eat, apparently there's lots of ice cream). the danger is definitely an issue (more likely wayward attacks that people get caught up in), but so is drinking and general health and wellbeing. make sure you have regular leave to europe or somewhere every couple of months - and get psych testing too. youwould also needs lots of books and other activities.

oh well, money is important (I know as i have none :D) so i wish you well. try and talk to lots of people who have done it already with the same company if you can. i'm sure you've thought of all of this, but i've seen people come back quite traumatised (sometimes they can end up with post traumatic stress disorder, so its not necessarily apparent for a while). there certainly many people who really enjoy it too.

best to be well informed :)

Re the 90 calories, thats good :)
You forget the 2000+ calories you burn a day just being alive (BMI)

Good Morning!!!! You are doing good. Kep it up. And I really hope all goes well for you on making that choice. Have a great Day and drink taht WATER:D

Hey Lee, I know you've thought about the contractor job so I'll just say good luck. You really continue to inspire me with your weight loss.

Hey, just checking in to see how you're doing!! I know what you mean about the yard mowing, I used to have to do my parents house and they live out on a farm. Good luck on the interview, I hope things workout the way you want.
