A good abs routine?

ab rolls as in with the roler that you kneel down and slide back and forth on?

Although your work out sounds a lot, its actually quite easy. Try 3 sets of 15 reps of crunches on a swiss ball, followed by 3 sets 15 reps reverse crunches, followed by 'leaning tower' stability exercise. it will challenge the core much more.

i like my workout and the results im getting, the reason i started using the ab roller is because i was told itll get rid of my 6/8 pack, ive been using it for a week and noticed slight change.

basically, kneel with a swiss ball to your side, but not touching your body at all. Keep your back straight, and your stomach tight and pulled in. Rest your forearm on the edge of the ball, then lean to that side so you're leaning on your forearm, on the ball. Your body should remain straight, and it is a slight movement, the opposite leg /knee can come slightly off the ground. Hold position for 30 seconds and repeat 3 times on each side. Activates core stabilisers.

If you are already sporting a low body fat %, I would recommend performing more resistance abdominal exercises.

If you workout 3 times per week with weights, throw in one weighted ab exercise with each workout.

My new favorite ab exercise is the following. Get on a swiss ball and perform a full situp but place the swiss ball by a low pulley with a rope attachment. Grasp the rope and then crunch up until your elbows hit your knees. Shoot for 3 sets of 10 with a 60 second rest between sets.

I just made my own ab roller....can't belive my luck (ok, ok..I know most of you are doing this  and saying luck!smuck!)....but I found two jumbo wheels as far for ab roller use, a sturdy stick, and some bike handle foam (or gloves).

The reason I got the ab roller was actually becuase advocates that gave it a plus...and I just was so curious about that object vs workouts. What I realized is that ideas about the ab roller the, book by its cover, so to speak. Its not the gadget its how they use it..their rolling routine.Yet, there are advanced folks that use ab rollers. Usually larger wheels or actual donut weights but not necessarily.

I have back issues so I can't push too far forward/down but I've found initially that ab muscles running down the middle on either side of the belly button have some reaction/definition. But I think it might be the top/abs not necessarily the deeper tissues/dimensions of the abs....yet??. The jury is still out on the ab roller (or until or unless my back acts up). I think it has its place (not in the trash;)...and use depending on ones situation and interests.

Below is one with Media Player if you have it that shows a ab roll the kind most folks can't do but its just to say that its not so absurd to use an ab roller.
