Alright so im fifteen and this year (sophmore) i can finally take weight training.
We've been lifting for about 4 weeks now and ive noticed improvement.
I came in never lifting...i couldnt even get the bar ten times...pretty sad.
Now my max is 95 lbs....my goal by the end of the semester is 135 lbs...we are on a block schedule so our classes are only a semester long..but anyway.
Alot of the seniors that have been training since their sophmore year say i probably will only max that on bench. From what i've seen with how fast im moving is that true? Will it slow down?
But anyway
Im 5' 11", 147 lbs, and 11% body fat.
My current maxes are:
95 bench
85 incline
85 military press
Questions.
1. My dad says at my age to only work out at school. He says if i do two routines a day that I will stunt my muscle growth or weaken myself.
Is it ok to do lightweight with high rep workout after school?
The routine we do at school is
3x10 bench 50 under max
3x10 squat
1x10 decline 50 under max
3x10 inclined bench 50 under max
4x10 military 50 under max
I also dont do 50 under my max. I do as much as i can get 10 times...i usually strain because i hear it will define your muscle more.
2. My dad has been physical for a long time now and he currently runs marathons....he tells me to stay away from potato's and eat a small meal every few hours to keep my metabolism going.
What can i eat to keep my body going and building?
3. Is sleep really essential? =/ I like going out with my friends.
4. I drink only water. Up to 9 or 10 bottles a day. Should I be drinking anything else?
