A Day In The Life of m2m :)

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for keeping my diary dusted while I'm gone!

Yesterday, Bob and I spent the day driving around "practicing" for his drive test. Seems that part of taking care of the accident, including a hearing that required a special behind the wheel test. It was beyond stressful, because one bumped curb could have had his license revoked. It turned out well and is BEHIND us!

Last night was my book club meeting, then I was housesitting, followed by taking Grandma to a doctor's appointment today - then out with my girlfriends to a club tonight to celebrate one of their birthdays.

Tomorrow, Meg has her book club, a girl friend spending the night then her Spanish club on Thursday.

Somewhere in it all, I get to sleep ;)

I haven't kept track of my calories since last Thursday - and that's also the last day I exercised. I'm missing it :( Friday I worked, Saturday I was up at 6:00 and moving furniture all day, Sunday up at 5:30 to get that lousy garage sale going, yesterday up at 4:00 because of the DMV stress....

I'm waiting for that Calgon shipment ;)

Hope you're all doing well!

busy. busy. busy.

when that calgon arrives, get the book or magazine or wine, light the candles, lock the door and relax.

You might not have had chance to exercise but sounds like youve been pretty active! :)
Glad that driving test turned out well. Hope you get a chance to relax a bit now.

Hey I'm glad the driving test went well for Bob. You walk faster than most people drive anyway so I wasn't as worried about you, but for the rest of the family its a good thing.

It must be a great relief to have Bob back on the road.

I hope all that busyness to come won't keep you locked inside. You deserve the chance to do your thing, oh speedy princess!!

Hey, I agree with Halo, you didn't exercise but you sure have done a lot. I mean moving furniture in itself is a good workout! That stuff is sure heavy ;) I hope you will have a change to relax and enjoy some time for yourself and then get back to keeping track of your cals and exercising :)

Welcome back Debi :)

I got grouchy in your absence. I refused to walk today too

I did do 200 skips tho

omfg, Bob needs a test ??? and there's about 16 million blue-hairs and snow birds out on the highways and byways that need off the road because there IS no test for them - sheesh !!

Yeah, the DMV test was BEYOND stressful for us. For more reasons then just the test (long story), and he and I spent 5 hours driving all over San Clemente practicing - and that place is one road hazard after another (cranes, ditches, cones and cats at every turn). The test itself only took 17 minutes, and the examiner ended it by saying to me "he really wasn't here for his driving anyway." The test was focused on those alzheimer patients who are recommended by "loved ones" to be taken off the road, DUI people, etc. It was a matter of can you carry on a conversation and drive safely, follow multi faceted directions, etc. However, had he bumped one curb, his license would have been revoked - so the stress was more about what COULD happen in the event of failing as opposed to the actual testing.

I can't tell you how glad I am that it's over - A week ago, he went to a hearing of sorts and the "inquisitor" even challenged him on the date of the accident - he was adament - it was 20 Feb, where she was equally adament it was 19 March. Seems that's when the paperwork was filled out by the officer - he made several other "mistakes" as well. Seems he should be forced to go through an alzheimer's type test as well :(

Anyhoo...I'm back from house sitting, Meg has a friend over for a sleep over and tomorrow is her Spanish club meeting. I'm back to calculating calories - I've done really well the last few days but it will nice to be back on track!

T2 - Great job on those skips!

I was able to skip a DMV test as I renewed my license during this trip back home. Of course, it's always something............they asked if anything has changed and I say yes, my weight cannot be accurate. I think that's from 10 or 15 years ago and you probably need to add 15 or 20 pounds. So the woman says she'll add 5 pounds to be nice.:) However, as I proof-read the document I realize she has also taken 3" from my height. I point this out and she says to ignore the error. So, now I think I'm probably farther off-track in trying to get height/weight proportionate or manage BMI, BMR or anything else!

Besides, in today's more conservative attitudes, I think "lying" about my weight by 10 pounds is probably a misdemeanor or something. I guess I'll have to deliver the 2lb. May challenge to insure I remain a law-abiding U.S. citizen! (God forbid I gain any weight, because lying by more than 10 lbs. may turn out to be a felony or something!)

You are sharing the Calgon, right?

I'm glad that whole DMV thing is done. I hate when people try to tell you that they know better about something that YOU did. Like with my grandma, she needed surgery for her breast cancer and our doctor had told the meds she was on, I guess he forgot she wasn't taking one of them cause they hurt her stomach. Anyways so the people at the hospital would not believe her that she wasn't taking those pills. She was getting so angry, she told them she tried them, it hurt her stomach and she stopped. It took them forever to finally believe her, and I mean forever. She was so angry, and I would be too. I think I know what I'm bloody taking over you! Man... people sometimes.... GRR!

Oh and jlynne

Oh man girl - you can have the rest of the box!
;)
I couldn't imagine losing 3 inches in one fail swoop! LOL!

Deb's back...woohoo!!!

:D
It's GOOD to be back!
If be it, cranky even.

I could only imagine how frustrating that would be - although...I take care of my 83 y/o, and she does forget what meds she's on - if she's still taking them or what they do...it's really sad when they see how much their memory is deteriorating.

Then she turns to me and says, "Getting old is not for sissys"

I totally lied when I got my license... I wasn't about to say that I weighed 219lbs!! I didn't look "fat" but I was large, and evenly proportioned, and I put down 189. Oh well, it doesn't lie now, but it will in a couple weeks when I'm 10lbs lighter! :D

I was 180-185 when I got my license at 16 - I wrote down that I weighed 165.
It STILL says that LOL! My license has never told the truth - ever!

It will some day ;)

I'm glad the whole DMV ordeal turned out alright. Sorry you've had so much to deal with since the accident. As if the accident wasn't stressful enough.

Nice! You're almost at your license weight! What an accimplishment. Haha. I think mine says I'm 140, which was probably true at the time. Maybe mine will be truthful again someday too.

Mornin' Deb .. Its been a while since i have been on here. Wtg on reaching 173! awesome :) So sorry to hear of your troubles going on, hope all will get better. Have a nice day, Jo

Good Morning, Star, Sunny, Jerry & Mal :)

I've actually scheduled walk time in to the day - so it looks like a good start!
