A Day In The Life of m2m :)

Speaking of a dirty thread..
....Megan is outside playing in the mud up to her elbows.

Tell me there is a homeschooling spin I can put on that

Depends on what she's doing with the mud. There are a lot of potential math tie-ins. Depends on what objects she has with her in the mud, what's she's doing with them, her reasoning - are you talking to her? Space/location/shapes/transformations, Meaurement/units/direct and indirect measures/estimates. English/speaking/listening - tie in to particular stories - contextual understandings, making up story for later recount. Science investigations, communication, natural materials. :)

Hi Guys,
I was gone last night, and probably won't have much time today before I'm gone again until tomorrow.

So - I'm just popping on to see if you're all behaving ;)

why do mothers always manage to extract an apology from their son/daughter even when they are blatently in the wrong and the evil doers?!
how do you mums do this?! i need to know the tricks of the trade..spill spill m2m - youre a mother .. or hasnt megan reached the arguemntative age yet lolz

My gawd...
Megan was born arguing...
I can't imagine where she gets it ;)

As for the apology extraction - I'm not sure...I try not to do it and am the first to admit when I'm wrong, or when I'm in a snappy mood through no fault of hers.

However, I looked long and hard at how I was parented, and there were MANY things I made the *choice* to do differently.

If you have any consolation, it's that you can do things differently when you have kids ;)

LOL! Yeah, I admit when I'm wrong.
(It just doesn't happen often) ;)

Seriously, just yesterday, I started to snap at Megan - I stopped and told her that nothing she's done was the problem, but I was stressing and transferring to her. She goes and finds other things to do when I get like that ;)

Which goes back to the mud thing...

To answer all those questions, yes, she clearly had a plan...she made a mine of sorts around a sprinkler head, dug around it, and deep, created a shack building of wood pieces, and dried mud with assorted grasses and was waiting for it to dry.

Unfortunately, did I mention she built it around a water sprinkler?
Phth! ;)
