IWAN! I've missed you!! One year...we DID have snow...

All Megan wanted was snow for her 5th Christmas. Every Santa she saw, all she told him (them?) that she wanted was snow and a bone for her dog. We found a company that blows artificials snow about an hour from our house and I called them up and explained the situation. The day before Christmas, Bob drove out and they loaded him up with ice chests of snow.

Megan woke up to a bucket of snow under the Christmas tree and a section of our front lawn covered in snow.

It was MAGICAL!

The company ended up giving us the snow for free (can you BELIEVE I was willing to pay for it???) because it was a kid asking - and not asking for anything else.

That's the only kind of snow I'm really comfortable with ;) (Except in cases of skiing!)

We are all done!! The inside is finished and dad put some lights out today - they're going to put more lights and the lawn ornaments out tomorrow in between the storms.

But the thought of me PAYING for snow is an absolute oxymoron!

And Xorie, it was cute, but she's never been the type of kid who asks for a lot.
 
Awwww, that's so cute! It sounds like your daughter has the real spirit of Christmas, not the 'I want' attitude 95% of kids have.

OK - so I'll admit...I sampled Irish Cream tonight :)
But, it's Sunday, and I always have my MIL over for dinner (nad now Baileys)!

Tis the seaason!

since I had a good night's drinking.

ok, so all the posts 'appear' to be sober up to this point, no need to mention I took a pain pill for the evening is there ??

This follows under 'pain management' guidelines. I'm being totally legit.

Nope - I changed my mind for the half marathon I want to do. The one I was going to do is on 21 Jan - and that's the only weekend Meg has a swim meet for the month of January - so I found another one in my county for 07 Jan - which is my birthday, so I have to get in shape!

Granted, I need to make sure we have the funds so I won't be registering until AFTER the holidays ;)

So cool. A purchase I was seriously skeptical of when the salesman sold it to me :D It works well on my printer too.

Guess what ?? My daughter just called, she's coming over for a visit :) I'm happy.

I'm off for my walk - it's a GORGEOUS day in Southern CA - sunny, clear, blue skies and a little chilly at 65 - but I'm gonna FORCE myself to walk in this ;)

Thanks OHD - It was my birthday last year that I realized I MUST do something about my weight. So the timing is perfect - I hope to be at least 80 pounds lighter then I was last 07 January when I cross the finish line of my first half marathon.

What a difference a year can make :)

Just finished my walk - 5.33 miles 1:01.48 11.53 minutes per mile.
