A Day In The Life of m2m :)

I have found that calorie counting leads to bad choices for me. I find myself low one day and I pig out to get up to the goal calories. I've been going instinctually and I think it works better for me, but to each their own.

"In pencil, I write the expiration date on every egg that comes into this house."
That's a good idea! haha. i write HB in pencil on the ones I've hardboiled and the date I did it.

"My sock drawer is color coordinated,"
Isn't everyone's?

"my spice drawer is alphabetical."
I have my savory/spicy on one shelf and my sweet (cinnamon, etc) on another.

"What I should have mentioned though, is that by calculating my calories, I feel more liberated then I ever have in regards to food. I am in control. Before, if I had gone to a fast food place, I would have felt guilty or that I "blew my diet" whereas now, I know what the calorie content is, and fit it into the daily allotment. That is very empowering to me."
OMG that is EXACTLY how I felt the week i did it, and it was the most successful week I've had in years. I've mentally done it since then (estimating), but am ready to do it again in detail (writing/calculating) to get back on track.

I'm grumpy too when I don't get my exercise in. Who would have ever thought it?

Good Morning Everyone :)

I feel MUCH better today!
Granted, I got my walk in - 5.1 miles.

It is so great that we do all find ways to make this life style change work for ourselves!

Cannon, I love the fact that you are already *there* To be able to eat sensibly, and just know when it's time to quit. That is such a huge accomplishment in my book!

Patty, Isn't it great knowing we're not alone in our neurosis'?
;)

I read what you wrote on Hillbillylee's diary about Disneyland. I LOVE DISNEYLAND TOO!! I used to go there all the time in the summer. So I guess you could say it was my babysitter too!! Gotta love southern California. I think that's what I miss the most! :)

Hi M2.........I'm waving at you..............................:D thought I would just jump in and see how you are doing. Have a great day and weekend, and get your walk in today. BTW...I found my measly little MP3 player that holds 50 songs and the only way I can get it to work, is to steal the batteries out of the remote control...;) Too cheap to go buy some...LOL. Works like a charm though. It will do until I get a iPod Nano....I want one badly.....:p

Way to go on your walk M2M. I hope that someday you get my ability to say no, but I desperately need your ability to say yes to walking. If I could just make myself work for 30 minutes every morning I'd be so far ahead.

thats my prob too ... getting up in the am and finding the motivation to get on my 3000 dollar treadmill that i thought would make me workout every morning ...

i got my treadmill for 20$ at a yard sale:D m2m hope you are doing groovy today, keep up the great work you inspire me!!!!

M2M ~ It's great to read that you are feeling much better :)
5.1 miles! What a great way to start the day. I need to get into the routine of getting my exercise done 1st thing in the morning before my mind wakes up and talks me out of it. :p
Here's to a great tomorrow too

fayada: so exercise in the afternoon.

Why make yourself get up early if you're just going to be miserable....

Good Morning Everyone :D

I got my 5.0 mile walk in this morning - I'm done house sitting so I'm back to my normal routine!! Woo Hoo!!

I should have more time in the day to post to diaries, sorry I haven't gotten to anyone's in a few days. I hope you're all doing well!!

5 miles is awesome! Way to go M2M, that's very inspiring. I wish I had the resources in the morning to be able to get out and walk...my 7 year old wouldn't appreciate me waking her (her school day begins at 7:40 and that's tough enough). So...it's walking in the hot afternoons now, at least until the weather gets ugly. Then we're going to join a Family Class at a local branch of Karate Internatinal.

Ohappydaye - I hear ya, my daughter would NOT be happy if I had to wake her for one of my walks LOL! Fortunately, my husband is here in the mornings.

I also know if I had to walk in the heat, I wouldn't walk. I LOVE the cool refreshing feel of morning air.

I got my black belt in Kenpo and have studied Juijitsu & JKD - taking a family class at your local Karate International sounds GREAT!

SWEET!!! It is so cool that you're a black belt! Awesome. I really like the idea of us doing it together, although it would probably be more of a work out for me if I were in an adult only class...but I'll make the sacrifice, there aren't many sports we can participate in together so I'm going to take advantage of this.

Martial arts is a great family activity. I got my black belt in kuk sool won and my oldest daugher has her brown. It fun and plenty of exercise. I want to get training again as soon as my back is able.

Hey M2M,

it's been a while, sorry, but you are doing amazingly since the last time I've been in here!!!!!!! ONly 7lbs from ONEDERLAND!!! WOW!

Anyways, I hope you continue to do well and I'll try to pop in more regularly.
