I'd rather read a young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk. ;) (free Starbuck's coffee to who gets that line - it's really not that hard).

Nuts! I missed being first to answer. Ok, I didn't know the answer, but I know how to google. And I have read the book it is said to parody: "The Unbearable Lightness of Being."
Reference:

I'm not going to type much, I"ve had two beers, one martini and one shot of jack - let's not even talk about the artichoke dip I ate!

hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Fortunately, no hangover :D
It's just a big fat bummer that I had no control over myself and the artichoke dip ;) The person who made it, cut the fat by changing some ingredients, but that stuff is definitely high octane when it comes to calories.

The problem I have with counting calories and my obsessive personality is on nights like last night, I just have NO idea - I can guestimate about 400 calories of alcohol, it was a very small martini, and a small shot of jack and two beers. The dinner I had probably had about 400 calories total and then I'm just going to guess 100 calories per artichoke dip topped bagguette bread piece, and I probably had 10 of those  So I'm thinking I had 1800-2000 calories so maybe 2400 calories for the day - which just chalks it up as a maintenance day. Theoretically, I'm OK with that, however, experience has shown me in the past that we tend to underestimate the calories we consume, so it's a hard call. Plus, I have no idea how to enter that kind of guestimate into my sparkspeople page. I don't like having a "hole" in the week for data.

Grumble, grumble ;)

Anyway, I got my walk in:
Total 5 miles 1:05.09 13.01 minutes per mile
Lap 1 Warm Up .25 mile 4.12
Lap 2 Walk 2.25 miles 27.66
Lap 3 Walk 2.25 miles 29.17
Lap 4 Warm Down .25 mile 4.14

I know what you mean about that artichoke dip. There is a restaurant here in Galveston called Yagas that has the best spinach artichoke dip ever! It is closed for a short time due to Hurricane Rita last year, but when it opens watch out. I am going to binge on it for a whole week :D

MMMMM. It has made me want some so bad just thinking about it

I hate holes too, I like to look at the line graph, a hole just reminds me of my 'bad' day. Sounds like it was a great party though. And you got your walking in, sounds like a pretty good day overall.

Yay! :D

You are fine! Just make sure you are on target for the rest of the week! And isn't a toatl bummer we have to watch it anyway? I LOVE to EAT!

Thanks Pequin - It was a pretty good day, but you're right, holes are tough to deal with - I don't really consider days as "bad" but I don't like not having a complete look at the week. It's part of that OCD thang ;)

Hi Deb,

You are doing to great. I am so proud of you. How is everything?

D.

DENISE!!! How are you? It's so good to see you posting :D I ran into Anne yesterday at Ross while she was shopping - it was very fun to see her!

It is a bummer - but I saw what happened to my life when I didn't pay attention, it wasn't pretty ;)

I bought some new shoes today - Saucony Grid Trigon 4

They have awesome heal support and fit the ankle, I'm looking forward to breaking them in.

They're cheaper then the Nike+ 180's, but the cost wasn't a consideration as much as heal construction. I also picked up a new pedometer - Walking Advantage Sportline 360 Fitness Pedometer as soon as I figure how to measure my walking and jogging stride I'll let you guys know the accuracy :)

For food today - well, I haven't been home to input into my sparkpeople - I know I'm at about 1000 calories for the day, but it's 8:30, I'm not going to eat any more, and in the event I'm wrong, I'm not going to stuff up the day ;) So hopefully, by tomorrow, I will be on track a little better!

Ooo nice - i need to invest in some new shoes at some time.

I dislike the pedometer - everytime i get onto the exercycle i forget to take it off and it records every peddle! :D

Lol.... pedal works too?????

Btw is the weight of the shoes a factor when u buy them?

Hi...

Hi have a good day chicky...youa re so on track...I can only try to be as focused as you...LOL...minus the dip...that is the easy part for me, I dont liek it...I think you are doing a great job and you are where I wanna be....below 200...

Just popping in to say good morning! *OHD waves* :)

...and just a lil' FYI, never get Kashi protein bars, they SUCK! IMO anyway

I'm back from my 5 miles - I still have to adjust my stride length for the pedometer. My old one was easy, it was height & weight - this one, I have to measure the distance of my walking for 10 steps as well as for running for 10 steps. I thought I got it alright this morning, but the pedometer shows a 4.6 walk and and my car odometer shows it as 5 miles. The pedometer is cool in that it will automatically change between running & walking, as well as measure distance per minute & mile. It does all the things the Nike+ iPod Nano will do but it doesn't upload the info to my iPod ;)

Until I get it all figured out, I'm going to list my distance and times as I have been (this will probably change once I get it all figured out - I think my times might be skewed, since I always factor in the warm up/down times into the total.

One of these days I'll have it ALL figured out ;)

Total 5 miles 1:04.58 12.91 minutes per mile
Lap 1 .25 mile 4.11
Lap 2 2.25 miles 27.25
Lap 3 2.25 miles 29.05
Lap 4 .25 mile 4.17

The Saucony shoes have GREAT heal support. The cushioning on impact is infinitely better then my New Balance. They are a little warmer - the mesh breath through area does not allow for as much breathability, but I plan on getting better socks. They are heavier then my New Balance - I could feel the weight difference in the muscles of my calf, but overall, the walking performance ROCKS!
