A College Weight Loss Journey

Okay, so the first week of my lifestyle change is over and I feel pretty good. I was able to get out to the gym 6 of the 7 days and turned away from snacking and high calorie foods. I haven't had a chance to do a weigh in, but I feel like I have lost a couple pounds.

The only thing I'm concerned about is going home this week for Thanksgiving. Does anyone have any advice for sticking with a diet on the biggest day for gorging on turkey, stuffing, and pie? I feel like turning down a full plate would bring some remarks from my friends and family who will also be there.

I can't wait to start seeing results in the mirror and the positive feelings that go with it. The motivation I feel is great and much needed as I work to lose this weight that has held me back so much.

Good luck to everyone else, and a Happy Thanksgiving!

That's awesome getting to the gym 6 days this week! As far as Thanksgiving, it is always hard to stick to a diet on special days like Thansgiving. Personally my plan is to try not to go overboard with my eating and to go for a run before I eat.

By the way, is that your dog as your pic? It looks like a lab? I have a golden retriever, so that's why I was noticing your dog pic.

Hey everyone it’s been 2 weeks since my last post and I think things are getting better. Thanksgiving week was incredibly difficult, I felt way too many urges to overeat and indulge in high-risk foods. Unfortunately I did put on 2lbs following the holiday but since then have worked to bring it back down. Currently I have lost 10lbs and am working hard to lose more. This next week is going to be another tough one though, I’ve got finals starting next week and will be spending a lot of time in the library cramming for exams. It’s going to be difficult to get to the gym but I’m going to try to squeeze in some work out time wherever I can.

I hope everyone the best,
Tyler

Finals coming up here and you know what is great for relieving stress when you're really feeling it? Workouts. Use your stress to your advantage when you find yourself free for 30 minutes.

Congrats on the weight loss so far!
