A College Kid's Journey Back in Time

Thanks!

I've been having insomnia and it caught up with me today. I was exhausted all day and couldn't bring myself to work out. 1400 calories today.

Uh oh. We went out for dinner tonight and had a five-course meal at a local French restaurant. I thought I'd reward myself for the last couple of days and had just a small portion of every course but then came home and calculated the calories.... 3000 calories total for today! It was so good it was almost worth it, but I'll have to redouble my efforts for the next couple of days.

Wow, a five course meal and you only managed 3000 calories for the day? You did well.

I think things like that are worth it from time to time- the great thing about calorie counting is that you can make it up and/ or get back on the bandwagon later and not fear you've permanently ruined everything.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been updating. It's my birthday tomorrow and as a present, my dad paid for a trip to NY. I'm trying really hard to stay on track with all the eating out and celebrating.

I weighed myself yesterday and I was 159 lb! I lost 4 lb and it's so encouraging!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone. Turns out I did ok despite all the dinners out, I weighed in at 156 lb this morning! My friends insisted on taking me out for drinks a couple different nights, but to keep from drinking too much, I would order just 1 really strong drink, and that would usually last me the rest of the night.

Now that I'm back home and on my regular schedule again, I want to get back into my exercise routine and keep up my weight loss.

1300 calories today and a session of P90x!

Since I've gained weight, I've developed this habit of noticing little things on my body that have changed and looking for these things in everyone else. For example, this week, it's collar bones. My collar bones used to protrude and make this almost straight line across my shoulders, which looked great when I was wearing a tank top or strapless dress, but now I can barely see them at all. Everytime I see someone with really nice, protruding collar bones now, I'm really envious. I know this sounds silly, but it's something you don't even notice you have until it's gone!

This weekend, I was roped into watching X-Men by my two younger brothers (okay, I'll admit I also wanted to see James Mcavoy and Michael Fassbender with superpowers) and it was surprisingly quite entertaining. I couldn't help noticing that January Jones has a fabulous figure (and was basically Betsy Draper in lingerie, but that's beside the point) and it definitely motivated me to refuse dessert at dinner!
