A brand new start

Okay. Today marks a new day! A friend and I are "kicking it into high gear!" She and I have agreed to be dieting buddies. I, of course, know I'm going to post here, because you guys are the original "Diet Buddies!" I'll post back later

Uggh I hate moving... God bless you girl..I hope you get thru it w/out too much stress. I feel stressed just thinkin about it!
uggh

Its good to see your back, looks like you and your friend slipped on to the wagon with us lol. I hope you have a terrific week.

You ARE the original Diet Buddies!
And moving is so awful! It is amazing how hard such simple things are when you move. We bought a brand new house which is wonderful, but comes with all sorts of details that the "last owner" hadn't taken care of. A mailbox, for instance. We had to put our mailbox in and that little task took us almost three weeks!!! Had to find out who to call to drill the hole in the sidewalk, had to buy concrete (hadn't had the need to buy concrete up until now...), had to buy the mailbox, etc.
And after a whole day curtain shopping I now understand why people put up sheets! I bought tab top curtains for the living room only to find they arent' quite the color I want. And the "spagetti strap" curtains that I bought for our bedroom are the RIGHT color, but I only bought 2 panels and 1 valance. To get the "look" of the package I need 2 more valances. I have 2 windows in that room, and while I love the curtains, I'm not willing to shell out the cash for 4 more valences. (I was already pushing the budget with these, but they are a lovely color, not quite casual and not super dressy, they even have a bit of a silver thread... loved 'em. Can you tell?) Any way, this is a small town, so I had driven to the "big city" to buy these and now I'm going to have to drive back. UGH.

Anyhoo, before I bore you to death... let me finish this up!
Yesterday's food

small baked potato with taco meat, salsa and cheddar

Sorry to hear things have been so crazy for you! I'm sure they'll settle down soon! Either way,I'm so glad to hear from you again! Your talk about dieting buddies reminds me of the song "Make new friends but keep the old one is silver and the other gold" LOL.

Oh, and You CAN stay on the wagon scrappy, you just have to decide your going to!!

Honey im sure you will have no problems staying on the wagon. Try doing the just for today trick… just for today im going to drink all my water, just for today im going to eat the right food, just for today im going to exercise, you get the drift. It dose work because it’s just for 1 day lol. Have a good week this week.

Thanks, Gals for all the messages. It can be lonely when you move and it made my heart sing to see all the messages!

Didn't exercise

Yesterday seemed to be the day for all the emotional gunk to finally hit the wall. I went to the health dept to get a shot record form for the local school and they then informed me that Aaron needed 3 shots. I didnt' know this. I had been told that he was current. (Every state has different reqs.) We just got a doctor yesterday and there is no way they would see us for shots before school starts (tomorrow!). So, I asked if we could just go ahead and get the shots. No, they don't do shots on Tuesday. And no appointments open for the rest of the week, but I could call this morning and go for a walk-in appointment. On the way back to hubby's office I just bawled. How come it is this hard! If I had known he would be needing shots I would have gone sooner! What if he doesn't make it for the FIRST day?!
Anyway, before this turns into a therapy session, I went today and we hog tied him and got him the last of the shots until he is 12. (I'm kidding only a little bit, it took 2 nurses and myself to hold him down while he screamed and the third nurse stuck him. I never understood why people cried when their kids got shots... now I know. I also think I should be exempt from exercise class today. I worked out all my muscles!) Sheesh. He is now sitting in the living room watching copious amounts of movies
Well, I've got lots to do to get all of us ready for the first day of school!
Talk to you later!

oh my kids and shots can be hard, it took my H, me and 2 health nurses to get the job done with my son, and i hear ya on the crying part lol your kids get that why are you doing this to me look in there eyes, im a gonner ive cried for most of his shots lol  Good luck on the first day at a new school i hope your son likes it! :)

Ooh honey...I feel your pain...
I just recently had to go through it all over again w/ my little one & it totally breaks my heart. I cry every time and feel like the worst parent on the planet. Id rather they stuck it in my leg thanks!

I understand about the move to this house mar 04...but now it feels like I have always been here making some nice friends....with charm like yours it will come in no time!!!!

Oh the poor little bugger and poor you, I no this might sound like im a really bad mum but I can’t take my kids to get shots... I get my friends to take them. My kids cope with it a lot better than I do lol.

Phew, I never realized so many people had such a time getting the guys shots! Before this, shots had been, eh, a minor nuisance. They cried, but nothing requiring a team to restrain! Rosered, your friends must love you!! I'm not sure I would do that for another kiddo! ;)
Smiley, I'm up real early because it is the first day. I think I have the First Day Flutters. LOL In typical male fashion, Aaron does not usually say anything about upcoming "stressors." This new school has been different, however. He likes the teacher and the room and the playground, but he peed his pants 3 times yesterday.
Adding to the stress is that fact that I'm not there too. This is the first school he will go to where I don't work or DH doesn't work at the church affiliated with the school. It is our first public school, too. Feels funny leaving him with strangers! I do know that he will be just fine, but if I need something to keep me up late worrying, I've got a little stuff here!
Anyway,
Ah, yesterday's food
no breakfast since I had to be at his school so early and then the shots and then...
string cheese
diet pepsi
leftover spaghetti and meatballs
2 garlic mini buns
diet pepsi (I'm beginning to live off of the diet pepsi)
bowl of ice cream
Pringles
water
cheeseburger
grilled potato packet
corn
small slice of cake

NO exercise, again.

Ugh, not looking good. Cake, chips and ice cream. What? Was there a birthday and I didn't know it? (And, you know, until I typed it out I knew that I'd made some bad choices, but I didn't notice all three of them!)
Rosered, I think I'm going to take your advice about focusing on just one day and one mini goal. For today I'm just going to work on policing the junk food and drinking water.
I so want to get back on track, but I'm so stressed!

lol you should have seen me the first day of preschool!!!it was a cooperative nursery school(where parents volunteer there time with the teacher)i didnt leave the first day. i stayed there and had tears in my eyes the whole time bc my son was getting "independant" lol im such a whack job lol my son on the other hand asked me about 10x's when i was leaving lol
im sure your son will do great!its always a little stressful when its a new place but im sure hell adjust just fine, true it must be diffrent being in a public system though, and you guys not being around(at the school)good luck to you, i hope it doesnt stress you out too much :) (id be bawling my eyes out lol)

Oh, sending the kids to school is rough!
Allyson is starting 1st grade in a few weeks. New town, new school, very nervous!
you know we are more nervous than the kids. Pretty soon they will be telling us "it'll be ok..."
stress can totally mess with our habbits and non-habbits....
Just take a huge deep breath and try to relax. Take a bath. Some alone time might do you some good. I know I could really use some RIGHT NOW! LOL

Thanks, Smiley and Christina. It is nice to know I'm not alone! He was very happy when I picked him up and he made no complaint about going to school today. :)
no exercise again :( Just can't seem to get it together! By the time I get the kids to bed I am so tired the last thing I want to do is lace up my shoes. I've just GOT TO DO IT!!!
