Haven't posted in a while. Been too busy! Visiting freinds before it is time to pack up and go. I can't believe that we will be moving in a month! I sure am going to miss living here. Aaron's birthday party is tomorrow and lots of friends and family are going to come and it is probably the last time I'll see some of them before our big move. :(
We're having a pirate party tomorrow. I've been trying to make a treasure chest cake. What a disaster! Do you think the kids will understand that real pirates eat trifle?!

Hows the packing going...oh how I hate that ...hope I dont have to do that ever again for a long long time....

I bet the trifle treasure chest was yummy!!!!!!!

Hey! It has been a few days. The packing? Surely you jest!!!
But I did get all the lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, appliances and landscaping chosen for the house. Only two weeks left before the closing!
This week is our church's vacation bible school (vbs). My SIL and her three daughters are staying with us this week. (6 kids in my house- I know you are jealous!) It has been fun in a very work-filled week!
Gotta love Rascal Flatts, Coastergirl!

okay. Time for recommittment. After the whole wretched week of Vacation Bible School (plus some birthdays and other fun) I stepped on the scale. UGH! 184! It is time to get my butt back in gear!
Drink 3 or 4 bottles of water a day...
Watch the calories and carbs...
Stop the never-ending traffic of "what-not" into my mouth...
Exercise as much as possible, but at least 4-5 days a week...
Post right here EVERYDAY...
I can do it!
This whole need for recommittment reminds me that losing weight is a process, not an equation. I always wondered why it was hard. Watch calories and exercise and lose two pounds a week is what we are told, but the reality is that reality happens. Kids have birthdays, you get invited out for dinner, you don't get a chance to exercise, you become over-stressed and try to cope...
It's a process.

ok you an d me scrappy can jump back on this,..I bit three lbs back on,..and not even sure how,..ok a few bbq's,..that I had behaved at,..not fair!!!!!! LOL...but it really just motivates me more.

It is a process, your right scrappy, two steps forward, one step back, but keep going no matter what! I'm so glad to hear your re-committing yourself, theres nothing better than a fresh new beginning! We are starting another 20 pd club on tues or wednesday, you should join!

It is the process Scrappy, and I think the very first step to weight loss is realizing that. Making smart choices, thinking about "the long run." And with all you have on your plate (no pun intended) the struggles can be a little tougher but the success will be so so much sweeter. Congratulations on your house by the way, how exciting!

Thanks, guys. It is such a "boost" to log in and see all your smiling "posts." :) Today was a rough day as far as recommittment is concerned. Of course, you can only go "up" when you start the day with a leftover chocolate cupcake! Luckily, I had some improvements today and will continue to get back into the process. Thanks again for the posts. I know that posting here is soooo important to my success!
Here goes the worst I've seen in a while!
chocolate cupcake
diet cherry coke
small bowl of ravioli
tea (milk and sugar)
pretzels
diet pepsi
slice of pizza
2 mozzerella sticks
carrots and dip (what was that? a vegetable?!)
diet cherry coke
bowl of trifle
water
cup of tea (sugar and milk)

Okay, that was bad, but I did manage a 30 minute walk.

...water...water...water...

A little better on yesterday's food, still room for improvement:

lowcarb orange juice
2 whole wheat waffles with country crock and lite syrup
water
banana
nacho chips with cheese and homemade salsa
diet coke
pretzels
2 fried chicken strips on top of salad with 3 cheese ranch dressing
Edy's light ice cream with a few M&M's and mini Teddy Grahams
water

20 minute walk

Hey, at least you're getting those walks in. And like you said, nowhere to go but up! I'm glad I see some fruits and vegetables in there. I think my best suggestion would be that you should start focusing on having actual meals-with a protein, a starch, and a vegetable everyday. Now of course I'm guilty of convience eating too, but whenever I can I like to have my meal on a plate, with 1/4 taken up by a protein, 1/4 taken up by a starch, and 1/2 by vegetables, and then I add a fruit or salad. This is a recommendation I got off of the Slim Fast website, its what they call a "sensible meal." Of course you have to watch what you're eating there and how big your plate is. But really, if you had a piece of skinless grilled chicken, a small sweet potato, a vegetable medley, and a small spring mix salad with balsamic vinegarette for dinner you'd be so much more satisfied than when you're having small amounts of other things all day-a few carrots with dip here, some nachos there, pretzels here, cupcake there--those things won't fill you up, they'll just tease you. Food is such a curious thing, but the only thing we can do is figure out how to make it enjoyable without making it our enemy. You're totally awesome Scrappy. And I love Diet Cherry Pepsi too.

Hey, Rosered, thanks for "popping in!"
Thanks, Fuunkymonk. I hear ya about the meal thing. With three little kids I really do have a schedule for the meals. Like yesterday we ate the waffles for breakfast and then I saved my banana and ate it mid morning. I did the nacho thing for lunch. (starch, protein, vegetable? LOL) Pretzels were a snack. Then dinner and dessert.
The big problem is not eating the whole time I'm fixing food. :)
I like the hint of dividing my plate into fourths. 1/4 carb, 1/4 protein, and 1/2 vegetable. Good tip.
The other thing that makes it hard is when I'm so busy doing their food (the second you sit down somebody needs something...) that my meals are not calm and fulfilling, just busy. So, consequently, even though I feel "full," I don't feel like I ever ate dinner. I totally miss out on the sitting and eating and enjoying a meal. Sometimes I even serve them first and then sit down and eat without interruptions. Of course, this can backfire if I am already hungry while making their dinner that I nibble my time away.
You are so right about our "curious relationship with food."
You're the best, Fuunky!
